It's fine, but I am thinking quite the opposite of you. I find that a 4-door vehicle gives me more space for practical use. Even if you take off the rear seats or have just a one-person ride, you'll miss the 4-door cargo space.

Side note: consider the curb weight of the 2-door plus the V6 6spd manual; I found it drove like a fast sports car in terms of acceleration. If you want to pass someone, the 2-door won't disappoint you anyway.

I'm starting to lean away from a 4 door and looking into a 2 door. Since I'm the only one in the vehicle about 95% of the time, why do I need all the extra space? How is the 2 door JL on the highway? I don't expect it to have the ride of my Explorer, but also don't want to be wrestling it down the highway like my old CJ. I'm sure things have changed since those days, but how are they on the highway?
I have always owed a 2 door and since 65 the JL has taken the trophy for ride. That said the ride depending on your previous driving can be harsh or great. LIKE all SWB Jeeps takes a bit more steering input to adjust for ever-changing road conditions. You got to remember its got 2 axles and a very short SWB and its NOT a Corvette!

Sure the longer the WB the smoother and more comfortable the ride...the ride in my F 450 with its 176 inch WB will let you drive all day in comfort. and its a 4x4.. It meant to haul/tow and I can carry 6000 lbs in the bed of it with it squatting below ground plane level.

Me I love my 2 doors, but I would think on it, the 4 is a nice ride but just not my cup of tea...

I have a 2 door JL on 37” and run 75-80mph no problem, definitely feel passing semi truck and cross wind but nothing scary or unmanageable.

no issues at all...provided you have the 3.6LV6. we test drove a '23 2D JL with the 4-banger on an interstate and did not like it at all. I couldn't 'feel' the road as if the vehicle was floating a micro-inch above the pavement.

I’ve never had an issue on highway at any time, other then not having enough space for long road trips but u adjust to that good choice. I’ve had many 4 door Jeeps but my 2 door has been my favorite I’m in process ordering a 2 door now. Good luck

I have a 2 door ‘23 JLR stock on 33s. She holds up very nicely on the freeways and highways. Plenty of power to accelerate and maintaining speed. You will feel her though more when it’s windy compared to a 4 door I would guess. I’ve been driving TJ and JL now for almost 17 years. Know your Jeep and she’ll treat you well.
I have exactly the same setup and absolutely no problem on any rods and highways.. To me always a pleasure to drive

Kind of surprised no one else has mentioned ’wandering’. I have 10K miles on my 2dr JLR. Initially it wandered on the hwy/fwy and I didn’t like it. Dealer adjusted the steering and straightened the steering wheel. Improved but not perfect.

I then researched and found the Exact Center ‘Return to Center’ Steering Stabilizer and I swapped out the OEM SS and once I got it dialed in (hands off no pulling left or right), the Jeep tracks perfect and is a complete joy to drive.

I just completed a 4800 mile trip from TN to CA, and back. Compared to the previous CJ's I've owned, it was a pure joy to drive... very comfortable. 3.6, auto, 4.56, 1.5" Clayton Overland lift, Toyota OC A/T III tires, hardtop, and additional sound insulation.... plus towing a small Uhaul cargo trailer.
Can't speak to the 4-door, as I would never own one, but the modern JL 2dr is a pleasure to drive! Happy Jeeping! ?

My wife and I did a 3000+ mile road trip in June and the 2-door soft top did just fine. As others have said, the high profile and short wheel base mean it is a little more prone to wind gusts, but it's not squirrelly at all.

I've taken several long (up to 2k mile) trips in my JLR with a soft top and half doors with no issues. My daily commute is roughly 30 miles each way, mostly highway. It's not a Bentley by any stretch but the myth of a 2dr Jeep being unmanageable is overblown.

Coming soon 2023 2door wrangler Rubicon
Have a 2023 Jeep JL 2 door rubicon, just me and my wife, got rid of the rear seat (90LBs) put in a new false floor that locates my refridge and covers the rear sub woofer to prevent dirt getting in and run the false floor up to the front seats creating more floor space and storage behind the seat and out of view.
Had a Mopar lift and 35" tires it drives amazing, quick, smooth and tracks suberb at 75mph,
22-23mpg around town and so far best yet on highway 25.6mpg
one other thing the turning radius is crazy small, even compared to our 2008 2 door we had

Do the speed limit, it’s very comfortable and relaxed. Have to stop for fuel often, small tank.
