oh man, driving back from out of town road was a lil rough in a patch and I got a death wobble :/

My steering has been dead on tight, has no slop or anything and am still stock so I was surpised :/

Going into dealer tomorrow for trackbar recall inspection, will have them take a peek. I saw there is an issue with certain build dates of steering stabilizers will have to find my date and see if its in the bad lot range, and check bolts :/

I've got the carpets and never used them after putting in the rubber mats. Still available if you have any regrets.

I'd stick with the plan to buy weather tech and be done. Good build. I'm sure you will enjoy it @Jeeprubicongurl
I agree. You’ll never use the carpet mats.
Congrats, I think the price is good. Not sure what discounts are around now, looks like your rubicon will come fully loaded. Quite nice!

Ironically this was just posted in the USA today. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2018/11/19/jeep-wrangler-death-wobble-nhtsa/2052901002/

i had death wobble in my JK and replaced all my bolts with the North Ridge kit, after re torquing all it went away. Hope our JL's don't have issues with this. Time will tell. Keep us posted as to any diagnosis on this as well

I think I've experienced just a tiny bit of this but thought it was just "a jeep thing". My stabilizer is in the "bad" list, so I'll be checking into this more.

I think (not positive) tire pressure comes into play as well as the alignment numbers. If I remember correctly the toe is pretty straight and caster was neutral as well.

Thanks for the link.

Time to wake up FCA. All the negitive mainstream news is not going to help FCA sell more Wranglers. Poor steering, death wobble and questionable track bar welds are not a good combo. I have read about ball joints that were loose from the factory. First things I would look at are the ball joints.

Recalls--Recalls just about everything now a days gets "Recalled". The articles
posted explains some issues. And 2019 welds are included !! What you say??
How could this be as none have been delivered. Some of this is BS. Wrangler frames
should have NEVER been built across the Pacific !! ENJOY as I and many of us love
our Wranglers. And remember as some say this could be "Fake News" :giggle:

Every car company in the world builds parts in the same countries all over the world. Lexus, Audi, Honda, Porsche, Subaru, all of them. Yet they can still have high reliability and quality control. It's not about where something is made. It's about FCA doing their jobs and making sure parts vendors have quality control audits in place. FCA needs better quality control. The Buck starts and stops with FCA and management.

I agree with you 100%. I can see small parts built elsewhere BUT FRAMES !! We can do
that here in the USA. I try my best and hard as it may be I will buy "Made in USA"

Please provide a link that shows the frames are made outside of the USA. This discussion was brought up in the frame welds thread. Someone said the frames are made in China without proof and everybody jumped on it like it was fact. The only thing I could find on the frames was that they were made in USA. Actually it’s stamped on the jeep frame “Made in USA”

I was wrong on frames built outside USA. But they are not made by FCA.

Toledo Supplier Park opened in 2007 by DaimlerChrysler to produce the new Jeep Wrangler. The name comes from the two on-site suppliers who make different parts for the Wrangler. There is Mobis North America (formerly OMMC) owned by Hyundai Mobis, which assembles the chassis, axles and power train, and KUKA Systems, which operates the body shop; both employ their own employees and control their own operations. While the suppliers may make most of the parts, final assembly is done by Chrysler.[4][5] The Toledo Supplier Park sits on the same site as the Stickney Plant.

But they are made by a South Korean company !!
