Built pending inspection: 06/08/18 03:02:00 PM
Ingate / Rebay at Facility 06/08/18 03:04:00 PM TOLEDO, OH VDC
Production Status KZ Received 06/08/18 03:54:00 PM

Although this info came from the site whose name not need be mentioned, just went on Jeep Chat to try to confirm and "According to the information I was able to find it is currently on the assembly line."

Those who have made it this far and past it, can I rely on the non-Jeep Chat info above?
Looks like it will ship. You are not in a storage yard as I was for 26 days KZ
As soon as they moved me to the Toledo yard it shipped in 2 Days.
Keep us updated I am excited and hoping for the best for you.

You're giving me hope, Clif! I'm starting to watch review videos again just to see some JLs in motion. Itching for a road trip! And as always, thanks for being such a positive force for me...it really helps

I also have a similar build to what you want. 6speed, A/C, antispin. I ended up about 2k off MSRP. This is as good as I could get here in Southern Colorado. Not as muck wiggle room on bare bones Jeep. Oddly enough my Jeep shows in transit with the original MSRP without the midway price increase. Window sticker shows the price increase. Weird.
I'd love to get a price like that. That's killer on such a low end model.

From my experience buying and ordering vehicles, this is not typical. I did my dealing before my decision was made. Only then I ordered based on that activity. $500 deposit that is refundable if I change my mind. Dealer is not at risk. They will be able to move the Jeep regardless.
Is it a bad enough sign that I should go elsewhere? I think I'm going to send the guy a message tomorrow stating "I'd like to come in and talk pricing this week, and if pricing is agreeable, ordering" or such.

I could see how a 6MT base model with crank windows in an uncommon color would be a not-super-easy sale if I back out. That's where they can keep their $500 deposit in that case.

I have contacted four dealerships in my region and this is somehow the best service I have gotten. Jeeps unfortunately sell themselves around here. Worst case, I would make a run up to Dillon Dennis in Boise. But I'd really like to avoid that.

Sounds like a plan. But, remember, they wanted you to give them money, to talk about money. To commit BEFORE you knew the price and terms. If they have the slightest inkling you might have almost agreed, they will be relentless at keeping you off balanced. Counter with being steadfast.
Be very careful, this is how they put food on their table - and they do it day after day.

To be perfectly clear, he (his part-time lackey--maybe I should've been talking to him directly, such as next time) didn't want to go nitty-gritty on negotiating when I flat said no matter what I wouldn't place an order tonight, and that it would be next week. He said that he'd prefer to talk pricing when I'm ready to order. He didn't try some crazy autistic stuff like "place the deposit then let's negotiate". But still, I found it a bit much. Perhaps talking to his boss directly will be more fruitful. I feel like making statements like "I've done research on what people have been paying, and it seems 1-5% below invoice is standard".

I have never trusted dealerships and mechanics. I have one sole service center I trust in Salt Lake City. I have zero dealerships I trust.

My Rubicon PST arrived Wednesday and picked it up Saturday. A 500 Mile drive home from dealership to break it in. Stopped by a scenic view for some photo ops.

When you put it that way, what you got was how 99% of cars are sold at dealerships across this country. To me anything under invoice is good, you need to decide what is good for you.
Good luck.

In transit on Jeep or your dealer's website does it show listed without the midway price increase?
As of today the Jeep site and the dealer site show the original price. The window sticker shows thi increased price. Zip 80922

From my experience, the main goal of buying a car is getting the product you want at the price you are comfortable paying. I always felt uncomfortable telling people what kind of deal I got. Sometimes it was great, sometimes it wasn’t so great, but every time I was ecstatic about my purchase. Nowadays, the dealer cost/invoice BS is so convoluted it’s hard to know what to shoot for but for your build I would shoot for the mid 28500 range.

I meant the reply to That One Guy. Obvi, none of the Rubi guys are getting a Jeep for 28k

Absolutely, the Dealer has no liability in these situations. I remember buying my first car and feeling like I owed them something. It’s pretty messed up. They can be quite manipulative. If you ever feel uncomfortable just walk away. Never feel bad, there are plenty of Jeeps in the sea!!

Jeep Wrangler JL 2 DOOR JL build/order discussions master thread 6E906A83-2836-4921-B859-313D8DD9472A
I’m not the only one still smitten by Vida!:involve:

I’ve gotten to do a bit more driving this week & one thing I have noticed is when it comes to Jeep waves, 4 doors are !!!! Jerks!
That’s fine, though. That’s cool. Yinz just leave the Jeep wave to the elite purist 2 doors. :like::jk::rock: I’ve yet to have an unreturned wave from a fellow unicorn!!!:fist bump:
