This thread is certainly going places. I don’t know much, but I do know I am sitting in D status. And for whatever reason when I think about it I hear in my head “I’m just a bill. Yes, I’m only a bill. And I’m sitting here on Capitol Hill.” Showing my age here.

Think I need to see a therapist.

I'm not too sure how excited to get yet, but I got a cryptosticker notification that my build sheet is found. All in all, I think it's good news. Afterall it could have gone from "not found" to "lost" or possibly "Ha".
Fingers crossed, that is is an indication of more 2 doors really moving down the line and out the door.
-Dealer hasn't been able to find a status, Drillionaire thought it would go to frame 26 April, 866 call said E on 27 April, tracking spreadsheet says D1 with no updates since 6 April
Ordered 28 February: Sport S, Sting Gray, Manual 3.6, Hardtop, Technology, Tow, Alpine

All the best to those waiting patiently for good news on your builds!

That's good to hear! I'm down here in Florida too (Orlando area) with an order date of 2/1. Been in D status forever. Drillionaire told me that I should see something happen this week. So I'll wait till next week to check back with him! I've been wanting to take my new baby down to the Glades before the skeeters get too big down there!

If this was more than a concept I would.... do unspeakable things to own it.

Well, I understand why ZGN is angry with FCA. I'm not sure I agree with the whole verbal contract thing. FCA does prioritize SOLD orders though. It's not a guarantee of being built first, but they do try to push them to the front based on everything I have read.

I think I am just still amazed at how many places everyone in this Forum has had to go to get accurate info. It seems that Drillionaire is the most reliable source. But, isn't that crazy that he/she gets you better or more accurate info than that of Jeep chat (whose job it is to give you that info)?

I probably would have cancelled the order out of principle, but the dealership is owned by my friend. I'm sure he could sell it on the lot and make more money than what I'm getting it for, but I don't want to cause that kind of problem. I guess I'm just venting.

I would like to give a shout out to warc1 - Some of you're posts have been the best as far as getting helpful info out there. It's really helped make all this waiting a little more tolerable.

Just got an answer from the new JL e-mail/hotline. As I suspected, Trail Rail system is holding me back until late May apparently.

Our resources indicate that your vehicle was ordered with the Trail Rail Management System which is not slated to go into production until late-May.

How long did it take for you to get a reply?

I e-mailed them late on Friday, and they got back to me about an hour ago. This was by e-mail, I have not tried calling them.
Thanks, I emailed them yesterday morning and I was trying to judge how long it would take to hear back. Hopefully by tomorrow or so. I called the new line on Sunday but all they told me was I was still in D, not much more. I was very surprised they man the phones on a Sunday though.

I hope you see some movement soon! Having Jeep Beach right over in Daytona last week didn't make it any easier to practice patience in this waiting game.
-With the right timing, you'll miss the love bugs and get to the Everglades before the skeeters are big enough to carry you away in your new Jeep!
:fingerscrossed:

Hah, I just sort of assumed they would be M-F only, so didn't even try calling them.

I have asked if removing trail rail would speed things up any, because honestly, I don't really care about it.

Good Morning to all!

I am new here and have a question to ask. I ordered my first Jeep in the middle of Feb. A 2018 JL Wrangler Rubicon. Four weeks later a VIN is assigned. Then everything stopped. It has been 11 weeks now and only the VIN has been assigned. Dealer is not communicating with me even though they know my desire for the Jeep. I would like to go to the Dealer and shake some trees. However, before I do is this excessive wait time normal? Being a new style of Jeep. Once again, a build date hasn't even been established. I called a number that I saw on you site earlier which answers as a Official Jeep number. After giving them the VIN # they came back confused and had no idea what the delay is. Please tell me you thoughts and thank you for letting me be a part of the Wrangler Forum.

Thanks for your help,
Kurt

Please help! This is not a reply to the previous post. I am new to this Forum. Please tell me how to leave a post. I can reply to one however I would like to ask a question to the more experienced Jeep owner. I do not see a way that I can. Unless I'm really dumb.

Thanks
Kurt
Go into any of the specific forums and there should be a big yellow button near the top that says Post New Thread.

Daily 2 Door JL Pic, day 5 (catching up)

That new 6MT is a peach. Fun fact: reverse is now to the left of first, and requires pulling a shift collar to operate. This is because Jeep wants it to pretty much be impossible to "rock" a manual trans Wrangler offroad now.
Been lurking for a while, finally ordered my 2-door last week. Very excited, but I know I've got a long wait, so I was reading through all the manuals and guides to pass the time. Doesn't apply to me since I went auto, but just an FYI for those with the manual: Jeep does not want to make it impossible to rock a manual Wrangler as stated here, they just want you to do it differently than you would have before. From page 200 (202 of the PDF version linked below) of the Users Guide:

If your vehicle becomes stuck in mud, sand or snow, it can often be moved using a rocking motion. Turn the steering wheel right and left to clear the area around the front wheels. For vehicles with automatic transmission, push and hold the lock button on the gear selector. Then, shift back and forth between DRIVE and REVERSE (with automatic transmission) or SECOND GEAR and REVERSE (with manual transmission), while gently pressing the accelerator. Use the least amount of accelerator pedal pressure that will maintain the rocking motion, without spinning the wheels or racing the engine.
