Hi all, not to distract from everyone being pissed about the wait but I just wanted to share that today I ordered a 2 door 3.6L standard trans sting gray JL rubi with almost everything available, so I will soon be joining you all in being pissed about waiting lol. This will be my second ever car (college student) and my second 2 door wrangler.

Also how do I go about getting my order status (obviously not rn since I just ordered)? I saw the tracking thread says its closed for now. Is that the only way or can I get that info fron the dealer I ordered

I'm sitting on my second order (first order my original dealer punted into the stands), and will be at 6 months of "patiently waiting" when May rolls around. This whole situation has become a massive headache, I'm literally telling Jeep to take my money and they don't seem to want it

After having three Wranglers and trading in my 03 Rubicon I have been Jeepless for several years. After a constant and growing feeling deep within every time I saw one I finally gave into the calling of the Jeep. I had ordered a Sport S and then after doing some research on pricing I showed a price quote on a Rubicon to my dealer. He was able to order me a Rubicon close to the price I had showed him. I couldn't be happier! The 03 was the first year of the Rubicon and went off without a hitch. Little did I know things would not be the same this time. Now I wait counting the days, the months, waking up thinking about being reunited with my new Jeep. I know there are others here, both with and without a current Jeep. It is a tough place to be but hang in there, be strong and know there are others like us, waiting and waiting for that special day! C'mon Jeep lets get the ball rolling and let the two door production begin!!

I'm gonna be honest: if I had known late last summer about all these 2 door delays, and a $3750 price increase over a JK, I would've just ordered a JK and saved some serious coin. If I could still custom spec a JK right now I think I would.

Since I don't want to trust a used Jeep, I pretty much have to say that it's worth the gouge price and wait to me, or bail out and buy another option.

I would appreciate if FCA didn't find another way to arbitrarily piss me off before I can place my order. Which I'm not doing until I see on-the-lot proof that a 2 door exists.

Mad props to the early 2 door orderers. Some of you will have waited 4+ months after ordering. Truly die hards that should frankly be compensated.
I ordered mine on 1-1 and spent sometime yesterday with a cup of coffee thinking about options. Stay with my order, order a pick up, order a car are my basic options. I don' like or need a full-size truck, I had a Tacoma and won' get another. A car doesn' work for me cause I like to hunt, fish and enjoy the outdoors, I want 4wheel drive. I am going to wait for my 2 door to come in and make a decision then based on what else Jeep removes from the 18 JL and my dealer standing by the price deal

Honestly I just looked up a quite frankly BADASS LOOKING- brand new- 2018 2 door JK Willy’s Wheeler Automatic in Rhino, Black rims, blacked out grill with hard top, 3.73 ratio, anti lock, off road tires in my area for around 33k and change- it’s mighty tempting to just say screw It and get a JK

OK you can either keep your blinders on or do a little research yourself.

“Honestly, without the four-door, we would have probably killed (the Wrangler).” Allen said. “(The 2-door Wrangler) was never seen as a real big design challenge.”

You can read more HERE
And you can go look up Chrysler auto sales and see that the Cherokee out sells them both, and so does the ram truck line. and don't give a fuck what one executive says , he too will be long gone before the two door jeep is, and your basing your entire argument on one quote from one article , sales numbers are hard data and they are all that count . again just be happy with your pseudo jeep and stop arguing. I have

Well I can also recall gas prices approaching $4.00 a gallon ( or even worse in other states) around late 2008 timeframe, so, it’s reasonable to assume people weren’t interested in horsepower over fuel economy. That might have had a “little” bit to do with why Wrangler/ and frankly all suv / truck sales were tanking in the mid 2000’s

If the unlimited “saved” the Wrangler from extinction, it’s probably because people well off enough to be buying a “stretch limo” version didn’t care about gas prices.

This may be true for some but I would bet more bought it because it was now a viable option for larger families that could not make due with a two door.

Seems like the 2 door 4 door arguments are getting a bit heated in here...

I’ve got no problem with the 4 doors getting built first since they’re the most popular after all, I just wish that was clearly communicated from the get go.

Same here. Found a 2017 Smoky Mountain 2 door local to me with 7,000 miles. 3.21 gears and no Alpine but I can live with that. Saves over $8,000 plus from my JL if I can buy it right. I sent in a low ball offer online and will probably start dealing tomorrow.

I would like to know why 4 doors are built before the 2 door models. It is my understanding they are built on two different assembly lines.
