i wanted to order the manual but the ol lady cant drive one. we go on some long runs, not being able to split driving duties would suck, so auto it was.

Yeah there isn’t anything else like a manual to help you feel the far and become one with it. But as I get older (not really a good excuse, maybe lazier would be better statement) I enjoy the convenience of the automatic. I really don’t mind the 5 speed auto in the Willys and am looking forward to the improvements in the new JL auto.

Teraflex just showed the JL manual is cable operated which will likely cause it to lose some of the feel. Still better than an automatic imo.

Ha, I got the manual specifically because no one else can drive it. My Jeep, only I drive it.

I have my Camry and Highlander for long trips or if someone else needs to drive.

This will be my 4th wrangler. Yes I’m waiting for my 2 door Rubi (soft top). Don’t get discouraged and just hang in there. Nothing agains the JK as we still have our 2015 2 door Willy’s and love it, but the JL is so much nicer than the JK and you will for sure regret it after you see the 2 door JLs rolling out there. What’s a few more weeks in the scheme of things?

Yeah, my wife’s daily driver is a Tundra which is perfect for long hauls.

i thought about that too, ha, no one would know how to drive it! haha! all mines! but we do long camp and off roading trips regularly, it would be a chore to do all the driving and i dont mind letting her drive...slowly...with lots of space, no speeding oh my, im gonna be a naggy bitch when we first get it lol

Don't want to insult anyone's taste but 4 door looks like a little bus... 2 door just seems more authentic to me - Nah I rather wait 3-4 months than regret wrong purchase for next 10 years....

I think they look like a carnival ride with the doors off. Everyone in the back riding around with their hands in their laps and a face full of wind!

for the most part, 4 doors don't look as cool, however with 4 factory half doors and top down they look pretty great.

so not a fan of the station wagon, i understand its need and purpose and im glad my kids are off in college so its not a worry for me. the 2 door still holds on to its heritage. its a nimble lil goat.

for the most part, 4 doors don't look as cool, however with 4 factory half doors and top down they look pretty great.

I can tolerate four half doors and briefly thought about it to camp/sleep in, but just can’t bring myself to do it. It’s like a four door corvette!
