Btw, can anyone tell me wait time for delivery for previous years? Is this just hhe new model release, or is it MO for jeep?

when i ordered my 2014 rubi it took less then 6 weeks from the day i orderd to the day i picked it up, but they rolled 2/4 drs down the line at the same time then, who knows if this year is the new norm. Will they always be producing the 4drs first?

I ordered a Rubicon hard rock in 2016, from order date to delivery was 3 weeks. This is is just issues from new model is all. It will get better as time goes on.

This is my first Wrangler. Are you waiting for this? (Obviously, you are). I am getting discouraged; thinking to check out any existing JK 2 doors and see what kind of deal I can get. The jl is so sweet, though, it really seems to be a step up.

Darryl: This means within the next day or so the vehicle will be in D1 status.

Scott Crowley: How often are they updated in your system?

Darryl: Every 2 weeks or so.

If their system is updated every two weeks, how would they know that I'm going D1 in a day or so....

If you feel like experiencing severe buyer's remorse and kicking yourself for making the wrong decision in a couple months when you start seeing 2-door JLs on the road, then sure... go for it.

Seriously, though... unless you absolutely need to purchase a vehicle right now just exercise some patience and you'll be happy you did.

With the updated schedule posted today from FCA, the 2019’s are to be available to order in September and start being built end of October. With the 2018’s stopping orders in July and production in October. So if this plays out, it is going to be an extremely short run of 2-doors for 2018, 6-7 months, and in 7-8 months you could have a 2019.

You think when July comes, they’ll automatically be cranking out trucks on schedule? I’ll bet not. BSG. New colors (maybe). Diesel. Right side steering. Etc.

My bet is that 2 door will, once again, start after 4 door. You’ll get the added bonus of paying a higher price and being the guinea pig for unproven technology (BSG) if you go for the V6, too.

<shrug> Maybe I’m just rationalizing, but I’m waiting. We’re in the home stretch, and I paid $750 less than most people since I ordered back in December.

Belt Starter Generator.

Basically a little hybrid system that helps the engine restart. Works with start-stop to improve efficiency and smooth it out.

Already implemented with the turbo. On turbo has the extra advantage of eliminating turbo lag.

We believe so. It will definitely be offered. I don't think it has been unambiguously stated it will be the only option.

I would actually like it but others are wary of it.

This will be my 4th wrangler. Yes I’m waiting for my 2 door Rubi (soft top). Don’t get discouraged and just hang in there. Nothing agains the JK as we still have our 2015 2 door Willy’s and love it, but the JL is so much nicer than the JK and you will for sure regret it after you see the 2 door JLs rolling out there. What’s a few more weeks in the scheme of things?
