Over 2750 mile trip my overall average was 23.8 mpg. 37s and speedo corrected with Tazer.

Amazing little motor. That’s with running 80 most of the time and moving slowly through the boring Yellowstone National Park. Quite a bit of 60-70 two lane on the way home.

ELEVATION: 50-100 ft above sea level

Everyone here needs to account for their elevation. Those of you in Denver, etc., are going to have far different results than us at sea level. Also, we should account for whether you're trusting the trip computer's number or if you're calculating by hand. I've discovered over 3500 miles that the trip computer is consistently 2 mpg higher than hand calculated numbers.

That said, I'm gentle on the throttle, mixed driving with a fair amount of traffic (thanks Los Angeles), and I'm averaging 17.5-18 mpg each tank. Highway driving at 75 mph is returning 18-19 mpg on the trip computer. Cruising at 40-45 mpg without traffic is by far the best mpg with the Etorque, probably in the 23-24 mpg ballpark.

The EPA figures were calculated using a Sport or Sahara (I don't recall which). The added weight of the Rubicon, 4.10 gearing, greater friction with the 33" A/T tires, more unsprung weight, etc., is going to change those figures significantly.

'19 JLUR, 35" Nitto RG, Warn winch, no bumper caps. 16mpg computer average for mixed, maybe 17-18 highway at 70-75. This is 93 octane.

Currently still stock everything Sport. 1200 miles. I'm averaging 24 city and have gotten up to 36 mpg on a 60 mile trip back from my cabin on the 4th. This is with 91 octane. Mpg keeps getting better as I put more miles on. I love the motor but I do have to admit I'm not a fan 0 - 10 mph. Only adequate at slow speed and I don't like the sound.

Dunno why but after 2,500 miles with premium gas (93 octane), I hover around 16 MPG. I don't think I have a lead foot but my MPGs are not that great! I have a 15 mile commute and my drives are mostly on city streets. I would expect to see it around 20 MPG. Thoughts anyone?

Try running a few tanks of 87? I know that seems counterintuitive but worth a shot? Also, do you leave you ESS on?

My current average is in my sig. Basically all city driving, I use 87 octane and leave the ESS on. I am around 3500ft ASL.

Thanks...will try. I do leave ESS on. (With the BSG...why would you ever turn it off?) :) I am at sea level...SF Bay Area.

I think the bigger difference may be the ethanol content. If you can find 0 ethanol gasoline that may pump your mpg some.

Could be, but the EPA states that using 10% ethanol versus pure gasoline reduces mpg by only 3%. That would increase the 16 mpg up to 16.5 mpg.

I just bought a 2.0 turbo JL last Friday and have put 404 miles on her so far on the same gas tank. I'll be able to get to work tomorrow but will have to fill up on my way home I think (26 miles one way). It's a combo of half city, half highway driving. Jeep says it should get 22/24 mpg and honestly I was expecting less but was shocked when I checked the dash today and my average MPGs are 24.6. Just curious what you all are getting?
I have had my JLU 2019 2 months and getting 25 MPG tank.
