I agree there’s still a dead spot but nowhere near as much play as before. I think the fact that it gets worse at speed is physics, as opposed to a sign of a problem.
One week ago I got my dealer to perform the TSB 08-074-20 upgrade to the new steering gear. They also did an alignment as part of the service. I have a 2018 JL Rubicon Unlimited and for the last two years the excessive play on-center has been frustrating. I also didn’t feel comfortable...
How much does your engine rpm hesitate or fluctuate before gradually settling down? My 2.0L Turbo 4 has never stalled on me, but on a cold start it has some hesitation and rpm bounce (mild) for the first 15-20 seconds. Curious if anyone else has noticed this and it's normal, or if this is a...
I've noticed in the last few weeks that my engine (2.0 L ETorque) is stuttering a bit at start-up. Not sure if it was doing this before. The RPM fluctuates up and down a bit, before gradually lowering into idle. It has been colder these last couple weeks - not sure if that had an impact.
Has...
My 2.0L ETorque is stuttering at startup. The RPM bounces around (+/- 50-100 RPM) on a cold start and almost sounds like it could stall if it got worse. I don't recall this being normal. Does anyone have similar experience or insight?
Thanks for the response. Allow me to clarify. My point was not to say that the eTorque system itself impacted the dyno readings, but that the 2.0L eTorque motor performed very well and appears to be conservatively rated on torque.
Daniel,
You can read up on this online, but in layman's terms, it adds power very briefly off the line. It also smooths the Start-Stop cycling, and gearshifts. Finally, since its a mild hybrid, it charges the battery while coasting and braking (regenerative braking).
My last car was a...
William,
I have a 2018 JL Rubicon with 2.0L eTorque. What difference do you notice, if any, between your 2.0L Turbo engine with eTorque vs. without? While there's a weight difference, axle ratio, etc., I'm still curious if you can detect any major difference such as Turbo Lag, off the line...
VEHICLE: 2018 JL Unlimited Rubicon 2.0 Etorque
ELEVATION: 50-100 ft above sea level
Everyone here needs to account for their elevation. Those of you in Denver, etc., are going to have far different results than us at sea level. Also, we should account for whether you're trusting the trip...
Wouldn't have bought the Wrangler any other way. The added 70 lb-ft of torque at 0 rpm has eliminated any turbo lag. By the time the etorque disengages, the turbo has spooled up. Previous vehicle was a 2015 WRX (2.0L Turbo) and the Wrangler etorque has no turbo lag in comparison. 48V BSG...
All,
I'm new to the JL Wrangler Forums and would like to revisit this topic. I have a JLUR 2.0 Etorque. I just had my first oil change and the oil is reading about 1/4 - 1/2" high on dipstick. I know many people have said dealers are accidentally putting 6 qts in the JL's instead of 5 qts. I...
