Asking those that perform their own oil changes on the 2.0 Turbo if there is a replaceable rubber seal or gasket type washer attached to the factory drain plug? If so, does anyone have a part number for this?

Coming from a Tacoma that had a metal washer with felt like material that I replaced during each oil change. I was crawling around under my 23' JLUR the other day and noticed what feels like a rubber washer / seal on the outside perimeter of the plug and wanted to ask.

Thanks in advance for your insight

On my 2020 JLUR, the "washer" is a part of the drain plug and not a separate piece.

Thank you. That's what I needed to know. It's way too early for my first oil change but needed to know if that was a separate part.

There are separae washers for that plug. But from experience, you can go at least 5-6 oil changes without changing that washer. Then it all depends on if you tighten it down thinking the oil pan is a 5000 psi pressure container (aka over tightening it).

According to European standard gutentheit, 6 gruntentugs applied makes sure it ain't fallin out.

I love this forum, you learn something new every day! I never realized that you could replace that rubber washer. Truth be told, The Liberty my son drives is 20 years old and has had 30+ oil changes over it's lifetime. It has the same style drain plug (possibly even the same P/N). Knock on wood, it's never leaked so we've never replaced it. I think we've done all but one or two O/Cs on that vehicle so it's always been done hand tight with a ratchet. Same with our two JLs.
