I have a 2021 JLUR with the 6MT. I currently have a CFII clutch, installed about 2.5 years ago. It worked fine for 18 month or so, but for the last year I've had issues very similar to those decribed in this thread:

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ompilation-thread.141518/page-27#post-2982081

I'm able to drive it with out issue, it's just a major PITA. I'm getting a new 2025 Extreme Recon and will be swapping all the after market parts (lift, bumpers, etc...) to my new Jeep and putting the Extreme Recon suspension and tires on my 2021 and selling it. I'm worried that the clutch in it's current state will turn buyers away.

I've been thinking about having the 19A Recall completed putting in a new stock clutch. I know there were lots of issues initially with the recall on vehicles that upgraded gearing and/or larger tires. But it seems like the fix is to reprogram gears and tire size with a programmer. I put 4.88 gears in my 2021 and will be selling it with 315/70 r 17s, it came with 285/70s. I have a JScan programmer. Is the fix for the limp mode and "Service Transmission" error issues as simple as reprogramming the gears and tire size and then do the JL Manual Relearn? It seems like it would work, but I've read a lot of conflicting posts.

I would guess dealer would stop work once they realize you have aftermarket parts in clutch area.

I experienced this issue after installing an aftermarket clutch, and when I took it to the dealer, they refused to perform the software update as part of the recall. They installed a brand-new Mopar flywheel and clutch. When they returned it the service transmission light was back on, and it was in limp mode. They were unable to clear the message and told me that it wasn't causing any harm, and since I was out of warranty, they wouldn't work on it anymore. After months of research, I finally found the fix. I had to buy an ODB+ and the Jscan app and run the "Clutch Replacement EEPPROM Reset Procedure". This is the exact procedure that the dealer was supposed to run but for some reason did not. Full Procedure:
To reset the "Service Transmission" warning on a Jeep with a manual transmission after replacing the clutch, you will need to use the JScan app to perform a PCM (Powertrain Control Module) clutch replacement reset procedure. This is necessary to clear the limp mode and allow the vehicle to operate normally.

Steps to reset the clutch:
  1. 1. Access the PCM:
Connect the JScan device to your Jeep's OBD-II port and launch the JScan app.

  2. 2. Navigate to the appropriate menu:
Follow the JScan instructions to locate the PCM and the clutch replacement reset procedure.

  3. 3. Initiate the reset:
Select the "Clutch Replacement EEPPROM Reset Procedure".

  4. 4. Follow the prompts:
JScan will guide you through the remaining steps, which may include turning the ignition on/off and other actions.

  5. 5. Drive cycle:
After the reset, it's recommended to perform a drive cycle to allow the transmission to relearn its settings. This may involve driving in different gears, including coasting down from higher gears to lower gears.

  6. 6. Address other potential issues:
If the "Service Transmission" light persists, it's important to check for any other potential issues, such as low transmission fluid or other faults, using JScan or another diagnostic tool.

It shouldn't matter what clutch is in there to begin with as long as I acknowledge they would be installing stock parts for the recall. Of course I would confirm this before bringing it in.

Right now I'm really just trying to determine if there is a solid resolution to the "Service Transmission" and limp mode issues for those that have changed their gear ratio and/or have larger than stock tires.

I can see the dealer saying if you have an after-market clutch installed, that the recall does not apply to the Jeep. No stock clutch to replace, no need to do the recall...

They actually took my aftermarket clutch and flywheel out and replaced it.

@Darkwing Doug I see you're in Minneapolis. Where did you have the 19A recall completed? Did you have any issues with it? Is all ok now?

I had it done at Jeff Belzer's Roseville CDJR. It is all good now after I ran the Jscan Clutch Replacement fix. When they gave it back it was in limp mode and said "Service Transmission"

So simple to fix with the JScan, but it took you a while to discover the fix, and it's something the dealer should have done anyway.

How's everthing going since the recall? Any issues shifting, especially 1st and Rev? What aftermarket clutch did you have? Were you having issues with it that prompted you to get the recall?
