I have tried 4 times to find where to hook up the 12 & 8 Chrysler Bypass on my 24 Wrangler Rubicon X. I have gone so far as to pull the drivers side knee speaker. as I was told the connection is tight behind this speaker, nothing! Anyone have experience with where the OBD bypass is located on a 24??? Thank you in advance!

It is way up there and a real pain to access on 24 and up models. The 23 and down were easier to access (but still not easy)

I sliced my hand and arm up installing the extension cables on both my 23 and 26 models. The 26 was a real pita!

Best is to lay on your back with head under the dash and use a flashlight to look for the connection point. Then readjust your body to actually reach up in that narrow access slot.

Post a picture of the area with the speaker removed, as the security module should be staring you in the face. The wires are just under the plastic module. I had my speaker out a few weeks ago , and it was visible, so a picture would help us understand your situation better.

I don’t have a 24 but I used a light shining up in the area and a hand mirror I stole from my wife. I set the mirror on the floor of the Jeep at an angle so I could kneel outside the Jeep and see up into dash without turning myself into a human pretzel or needing to eat ibuprofen like candy the next day,

My .02 is throw away the cables and get a dedicated bypass module. I use the ECRI. To much of a pain to disconnect the wires everytime you have to make a change or clear a check engine light.

Hi ScotM, I already buttoned the whole thing back up. If I pull it back apart and still can't find the connection, I'll post a photo. I'm worried I'm going to wear out all the snap plugs!

Don’t pull it apart again. I just snapped this picture. You can see the security module and the two plugs. Stick your camera in there and start looking for it that way

Thank you Scot! Is this a 2024? It looks more like our previous 2018, which was a piece of cake to locate and plug in/

THANK YOU Scot! We have a 24 Rubicon X, 2 Door. I think I'm too big a guy to get turned in the drivers footwell enough to see where these plugs are! I'm going to recruit my Lovely Bride to see if with these pics she can find them! Also appreciate the where to buy the replacement clip info in the link you attached as I have broken two! Thanks again! Wish us LUCK! Semper Fi' :)

I hope you guys can get it figured out. Sometimes it seems like every jeep was built just a little bit differently 😎

Here is the SGM box on my 2026 Rubicon X. I used the 12+8 bypass cable to activate my AUX switches, since my Rubicon X didn't come with them. 😐
I used long reach needle nose pliers to grab the cable while the other hand pressed the "connector latch", also used the pliers to put them back in. Not much room for hands there.

The viewpoint is looking into a mirror positioned under the OBD.
