Hello everyone,

I got my new tires installed today 255/80r17 = 33.3"x10". I would have preferred a 10.5" wide tire, regardless I'm reasonably sure these tires fall under the pizza cutter category. I know these don't look as cool as larger, wider tires, but so far, they seem to be practical. A definite increase in ground clearance, no rubbing, there's about 1" at full turn between the tire and the sway bar. A little less pep from a dead stop but not too bad. Braking: Yes, I noticed a slight difference but not enough to warrant a brake upgrade. This is the factory wheel 17/7.5" back spacing measures 6 3/4" I wanted no tire poke and obviously there's none however, I don't think this wheel is very attractive, but it was difficult to find an aftermarket wheel in this size, so I just went with them for now. Hopefully there's enough room/articulation for easy to moderate trails.

I believe if my jeep was OD green and the top was off, there might be a slight resemblance of Radar from Mash.

Cheers

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Looks good, I like it
Agree, and nice tire choice too, should do well cutting through the muck rather than pushing or floating through it.

That's some pretty aggressive tread. Should be able to do some pretty good trails with those ?

I have the perfect wheel suggestion for you. Hub centric, great look, and cheap: https://www.vividracing.com/-p-1533...nSTLtEGogLTdKJsMFsWqFRzwA1yKKH0BoC1swQAvD_BwE

Look at this JK: https://www.wranglerforum.com/threads/17x6-5-wheels.2340839/post-34607635

Plus the narrower 6.5" wheel will hold the bead even tighter when you air down versus the 7.5" stock wheels.
No way! I looked all over the web; I couldn't find anything. That's what I was looking for!

Thank you

I like your choice just fine. Personally, I don't get the "over-wide" thing...I think it looks goofy. And, wide tires just sling rocks and crud all over everything ALL THE TIME. Hard pass on that.
I had 33x10.5r15 tires on my TJ. That rascal wheeled great! But the rims had too much back spacing, creating too much tire poke. I thought it looked cool but GEEZ! One little puddle of water on the road my jeep was filthy! When I hit pavement off the trail, it slung dirt, mud, rocks all over the sides of my Tj. It was already dirty OK that's fine but the paint chips from the stones drove me nuts.
