Anyone using 255/80r17?

My JLUS Willys is currently on 255/75r17 which is a 32.1" diameter tire. I am wondering if I can move to 255/80r17 which is a 33.1" diameter tire and maintains the width at 10". I suppose the reduction in articulation and possibility of rubbing should be minimal. Any thoughts or experience from anyone? Thanks.

I've had good luck with this approach in the past on other vehicles. Search is your friend:

If I had a Willys I would have went with that size. I had 33x10.50s on my TJ and they performed really well off road with minimal impact on one road performance. The was a noticible difference in power/mpg's between 12.50 and 10.50 tires in my 4cyl TJ. Because I have the 6-speed and 3.45 gears in my JLU I went with 255/75 though
