It sure went around corners faster than I'd try lol. Cop tried to stop him for speeding. He runs. Arrested for pot (w/intent to deliver) and a laundry list of traffic citations. He was apparently renting the Jeep.

Exciting!

Kinda weird to go through all that danger and nearly kill other innocent drivers for 4oz of weed, when 2.5oz is legal for medical patients (at AR state level, not federal of course).

Maybe a bad take, but how about they legalize and tax it for recreational use, get rid of the dealers and then fix their poopy roads with the revenue? ?

That was entertaining. Impressive the Jeep didn't roll when it slid down the embankment. All that rural countryside... if he had cut through a field he might have had a better chance. On pavement, he was never going to get away.

If you read the news in areas where weed has been made legal, they say because of taxes people still buy from illegal sources. So making it legal doesn't necessarily get rid of dealers. The dealers can sell it cheaper.

Sooner or later people like this guy win the Darwin Award...

I've heard this as well and it makes sense, but there's still gotta be a large portion of people that would gladly pay a premium for a safer state-regulated product that isn't potentially tainted or cross-contaminated with some deadly shit like horse tranquilizers, fentanyl or the other weird synthetic drugs that are out there now.

But back to the video. What was the logic (if any) for camping in the oncoming lane over blind crests and corners when he wasn't passing anyone? Even seeing the cop do it a few times made me nervous.

Jeep had some decent go power really was surprised.
Was rather impressive. Since this was a rental, I doubt it was the diesel or 392, so.. was it the 2.0T or the 3.6? We need to know which one is better for hot pursuits. OP, edit and create a poll! ?

The reason he was driving crazy is that many jurisdictions have a “no chase” policy if the driver goes 30 over the limit or starts making dangerous manuevers. Obviously this guy knew that and hoped that the pursuing officer would cancel or get canceled on the chase.

I’ve been in many similar situations where I had to cancel. It’s a bad policy in some ways, because the bad guys know it works to drive crazy to get the chase canceled. It’s good because if the driver of that Jeep hit someone head on at 107, it would have been deadly. Not sure the bust was worth the effort here.

As long as it took that LEO to pull even, that dude had all day long to dump his stash

We are completely legal federally here. Other than there being a lot of pot stores opening up, it really hasn't had much impact. You'd be hard pressed to find a cop that's going after a weed dealer these days. Not to mention the quality of legal weed is night and day to most ditch weed out there.
Just the fact this guy decided to risk lives by running from a cop for 4oz says a lot.
