I am looking to power my dashcam from the rearview mirror by using a 10-pin to USB adapter. Have a 2023 Rubicon 392, which has ACC. A Youtube video I found lists a 10-pin Type D to USB adapter: https://a.co/d/f7KZ0Fh. I want to use a 10-pin to USB-C adapter because the connector is smaller. Does anyone know if this one is compatible: https://a.co/d/iz7Ck3o

Thanks

Not sure what the differences are between the mirror connectors on my 2022 4xe and your 392. I got a similar 10-pin adapter and discovered the connector in the mirror stalk on my Jeep is not a 10-pin plug. The adapter wouldn't work on my setup. Pulling the cover off the mirror stalk was fairly easy and gave me direct access to examine the plug. I'm reasonably certain that's there this type of adapter is supposed to interface with the plug, but somebody please let me know if I was looking in the wrong spot.
I spent some time looking for an alternative, but never found anything similar that would fit my Jeep.

I used a dongar adapter in a previous vehicle, and it worked great. You could always reach out to them, perhaps with a photo of the plug to verify. I did the same and they got back to me very quickly.

OK, so I took pics of my mirror connector today:

Can someone please confirm if they use a USB-C one that is compatible with 2023 Wranglers?

I received the following response from the seller of https://a.co/d/iz7Ck3o:

"汪文 answered: "Hello Not applicable to Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler's plug has a unique structure. Mangoal's store offers customized dash cams for Wranglers."

I have the same adaptive cruise control with that plug and there is another plug for the auto dimming mirror. It has 4 pins. Does anyone know the part numbers for these pigtails? I'd love to buy a ready made adapter but I can't find any and I am thinking I will have to buy the pigtails and make my own adapter.

I received the following from Dongar after sending them pics of my connector:

Thanks for your interest in our product!

Unfortunately, we do not have a compatible adapter for the connector in your photo.
That's actually a waterproof harness, and we do not have the means of purchasing these parts due to the supply chain crisis.

For now, we recommend trying out our USB hardwire kit:

You can follow us at facebook.com/dongartech where we usually announce new products.

I don't think they know what they're talking about. I can't believe that nobody has any info on this connector - i.e. part number, pins, etc.

Any luck finding solution?

No. There are 20+ companies selling these adapters on Amazon, but most of them have no idea what they are talking about and the only way to find out is to buy their adapter and test it, which is not something I have time for. All the "supply chain crisis" claims are nothing but BS similar to "We raised prices because of COVID". The reality is this connector is not "unique" or "new" and hundreds of thousands of Stellantis vehicles were made with it since 2023. It comes down to sellers being lazy to update their photos and documentation correctly. Ridiculous!

Take a look at this video. I think the connector there is same as yours.

@ek1 did you ever locate an adapter? I am trying to also tap the mirror power inside the ACC shroud of my 392. FWIW, my dash cam is a BlackVue. TIA

Forgot this thread exists too, but I did get a better recent update regarding the Dongar adapter for the JL:
Thanks for your interest in our product.
Unfortunately, this is a known issue we've identified with the Jeep Gladiator — both the Gladiator and Wrangler use a different waterproof connector on their mirror harness that our current DCA-10D adapter is not compatible with. We apologize for the confusion our website may have caused!

An adapter is currently in the design phase, and we're hoping to have something available within the year. In the meantime, the only available option would be our PRO USB Hardwire Kit: https://dongar.tech/products/dongar-pro?variant=46722691268832

Why not just use a Garmin power adapter from the OBD port and be done with it?

It's nuts how no one makes plug-and-play solution for the JLs yet.

I ended up getting one of these and connected the pins directly into the connector, and secured everything with vinyl electrical tape, and then fabric wiring loom tape. I have Pelsee P12 Pro Max plugged into it, and it's been working great. But I don't have adaptive cruise control. What you can probably do is to get this, and then just splice the wires in for your dash cam. It also comes with tiny volt meter you can plug into it, so you'll be able to figure out which of the holes are live without having to use a multimeter.

Yes, this is the exact adapter referenced in the link I posted 2 posts up. Works like a charm.
