One of the annoyances I find when cruising the forums is negativity against the "Brand". And..Jeep forums are no exception. I get that people have issues, and want to vent, but some people continuously bash Jeep at EVERY opportunity.

Why stick around the forum spewing venom? And, why continue to buy Jeeps if the vehicles/company are so bad?

If you think Jeep gets bashed on here, you should see how Jeep gets bashed elsewhere...

It is what it is. If what others think is that important, then a Jeep may not be the right choice. Owning a Jeep is not for the faint of heart.

Depends on the validity of the complaint.

I see some people that whine and complain about everything or nothing. The complaints usually sound something like my Porsche has such and such and why doesn't the Wrangler....

Other complaints are true concerns and issues FCA needs to address. Steering, quality control, pricing, etc.

Funny, I just posted this comment on the steering thread,,,,

Cannot explain it but 36,816 miles in and I have yet to experience any of the steering issues described on the forum.
So we at least have one vote for the JLUR not being to dangerous to drive, or some even believing it to be a death trap!
I can personally say the theory that every new Jeep Wrangler out, ( because all are junk) needsto be thrown out because of a relatively smallamount of issues whatever those issues may be is a ridiculous approach. Mine has now been stock, over built, extreme off road, cross country driving and typical city driving. The only danger I've experienced has been the relentlessly STUPID Prius's on the road!

Unfortunately the negative get brought up where the good often remains silent.

For example I just had a wonderful 1 hour drive with my son where we had a good talk about the birds and the bees and what he wants to do when he grows up. A 10 out of 10 chat. All good. Happened in my JL with the top down.

The opposite side that you will see are people that stand behind Jeep no matter what. They are downright in denial that there are any issues, that things could be better, or poor choices have been made by FCA etc.

Apple and Jeep have almost a cult like following and neither can do any wrong or be subpar.

Yup a cult following! I've had 27 Jeeps both new and used! Out of those, only two have been what I'd call lemons, one new, fixed under warranty a CJ and one used Wagoneer fixed with my pocket !

Not a bad record, guess my biggest complain is the same leaks up until my 2007 JKU same leaks gone! Loved 'em all, those Yes soke were Love Hate relations! My 2018 JLU I've fought with a rear window defroster issue, painful however still love it! My 2015 Cherokee Trailhawk, been back for 2 recalls only love it!

Yup a cultist since 1965 and CJ's! Go Jeep!!!

[QUOTE="If what others think is that important, then a Jeep may not be the right choice.[/QUOTE]

Actually what others think is that important me. By far the biggest reason I come to these forums is to learn/share on Jeep-related topics. When non-stop ranters post, it confuses every issue with noise that's distracting and misleading. Basically, it's the little boy who cried wolf - when you have something important to say, I'm not listening because I tuned you out.

I'm not looking to dissuade anyone from contributing, but please quit banging the same drum over and over and over...

Ten new Jeeps under my belt, and a proud cult member!

Because there’s nothing else like the wrangler, even the FJ wasn’t close. The only thing similar were Broncos, now that they’re coming back some people might make the switch but they still won’t have straight axles.

It’s a vehicle specific forum, much like other vehicle specific forums you’ll see more negativity than positivity because when something happens people come on here to get advice/guidance on their issue and it almost always opens a can of worms. BMW forums are just as bad.

There’s typically (2) types of people in here:

1. People bashing Jeep up & down because something went wrong.

2. The cultist that think there’s no way anything could ever be wrong.

So, naturally there are a lot of arguments.

Me personally, I love my Jeep, haven’t had too many problems but man enough to admit when I do and I try to help whoever I can when I can. Even I’ve gotten in arguments on here and I’m neither of the above (2) categories of people.

Moral of the story, it is what it is. I agree I would like to see some more positivity here (not blind positivity) but it’ll never happen.

The forum is a place for everyone to voice their opinions. Not just the positive ones.
I love my Jeep and will continue to own Jeeps but that does not mean it's flawless.
Like someone already mentioned, this is a place of learning, exchange ideas, learn from other's mistakes and take advantage of the abundance of knowledge here. If someone really cared about the brand, bringing obvious issues to the attention of the people in charge is one of the best ways to help the brand's success.
Personal attacks aside, complaining about other's complaints is one of the most ironic thing one can do.

I tend to take a neutral stance, and not get suckered in by any of the comments here. And remember that balance of both side of opinions is what motivates change, drives development and allows the brand to continue to evolve.

Rough numbers from carsalesdatabase.com for Wrangler
Us
2018-240,030
2019-228,000
Canada
2018- 6818
2019- 6878
Europe
2018-22,800
2019-23,000
That's roughly 523,000 wranglers sold with what I can find as approx 3000 total complaints.
No matter how you play it that seems pretty damn low on 523,000 units. That's considerably less than 1% in the real world.
And yes I realize Jeep may very well have received more complaints than other brand. But even at 1% that's nearly 518,000 with no complaints to
5230 with complaints!
Hell, there isn't anyone member on this forum that can boast a 99% acceptance rate!

Just to be clear, I also come here to learn about troublesome issues - arguably that's the most valuable information. What I take exception to is the non-stop barrage on the same issue. I've only been following this group for a short-time, but I amazed that some people can divert virtually any issue into a rant about JL steering.
