so I “officially” placed my order on Saturday since the painted top restraint was lifted. Dealer says it’ll just sit till March allocations open up.

What exactly does this mean?

Like once a month do they open the order banks to fill the month’s schedule, then anything placed after waits until the next month?

Also, when does a month’s allocations open?

Just looking for some clarification.

Thanks in advance!

It means that FCA allots a certain number of allocations for production that are divided up to dealers based on prior sales volume. In short, they are saying it will just sit there because they have no remaining allocations to use for your order. On a monthly basis (typically at month start), the plant says OK dealer #1, here are your new allocations -- i.e., the number of new vehicles for this specific model that we will let you order for this month.

The plant has limited production right now and it will slowly ramp up this year. Thus you get this response. It's more common in rare, limited production cars. However, in this situation the Wrangler is technically still in limited production mode. Typically the ideal situation for both manufacturers and dealers is to produce demand - 1 vehicles. Unless you're Porsche or Ferrari =)

If you ordered, it shouldn't be a dealer allocation thing. You didn't say what you ordered...is it a JL (2-door) or JLU (4-door)? They haven't started producing the 2-doors yet. Last I heard it was supposed to start the first of April. I am "patiently" waiting for my 2-Door Rubicon to be started. The 4-doors are being produced now and I have seen fairly quick turn-arounds on orders.

If your dealer didn't really place an order and are just waiting to fill your order with a dealer vehicle...you could be waiting a long time. Insist that they order your Jeep for you!

JLWF Dealer Guy has posted numerous times that sold orders are always acceptable and are priority over dealer allocations. My dealer has confirmed this too. If your dealer is saying he can’t order your Jeep because he doesn’t have allocation space, you need a different dealer.

I ordered today and my dealer confirmed that since this is a sold order they can submit the order immediately and did not need to wait for an allocation. I got my VON a few minutes after it was submitted.

Did you call the dealership to get a VON or did you receive an email update? Thanks

My VON was on my order sheet before I even left the dealer.

I just used jeep chat and gave them my VON to check my status. They made me confirm my address and make and model. Maybe you could try them to see if they have your order

Chances are they made the deal with you before they entered it into their order system. Mine was the same back in January. When the “Order Guy” came in the next day, I received an email from my salesperson with the VON. A week later I received the VIN, status code, and estimated ship date. Estimated ship date was actually the day it was built.

Call your dealer.

Yes!
my dealer for instance has only one guy that does all of their ordering. If “that person” wasn’t in, your order will just wait on said persons desk till he/she comes in next.

Thanks for the reply but I was sitting right next to the rep as he entered it into the system. He handed me the order print-out like others have posted on the site. The only difference is mine has no VON or VIN. I guess I'll just circle back with the dealer in a few days. Thanks again.
