Long story short I was able to get my Sting-Gray Sahara order in right before close last night but salesman wasn’t able to officially add it to their order inventory until this morning. He said he’ll still do his best to honor the original price we agreed upon before the $500 addition (which I still find ridiculous considering all the 2018 options aren’t even in full production yet.)

Price went up $500 + $250 destination for a total of $750. If you have a “sold order” in the system there is a price protection code the dealer can use to hold the original price.

Exactly. If you take a deposit, the deal is done. I'm in JB status... But they can keep it if they try to change the price.
I'm in the same boat... JB status right now... Placed my order over a month ago... I'm already at roughly 7% below invoice, and thus, I cannot image the dealership will eat the price increase, since they're already at 7% below invoice with me... Although, my sheet is showing "Sold Order," so maybe I'll be ok... See bottom of build sheet, under "Scheduling Priority."

Well, I finalized my order on March 2 with pre rate increase in the POC he sent me, after a week of talking and e-mailing. We went over the numbers he sent me and he took a deposit. He didn't mention any price increases. I'm not a lawyer but it sounds like a contract.

I hope the dealer honors it for you guys. Please stop saying this is a price lock due to deposit or agreement. If you look at the bottom of the sheet you will see you have signed off on the fact that prices are tentative and subject to change. You have the right to walk away if they do not honor it but you all did not read the note at the bottom of what you signed.

I have emailed my dealer on my SOLD ORDER. When I hear back I will let you know what I am told as to the $750 price increase.

I just did the same thing.

Thanks Ron for the solid information, I will ask Monday morning when they open if I am lucky enough to have the 27EJ2 code.

There are two different things. One is the POC but the other is a price protection process set up for dealers to get an exception for sold orders.

My dealer told me my deal is locked and won't change.

While I did sign the configuration sheet, it doesn't even state the settled on price. That is on the "customer info sheet" that I also signed. Either way, I asked my dealer to check on Monday.

FCA was giving beta testers a $500 discount for their troubles. :giggle:

So why hasn’t Jeep updated the online configuator yet to reflect new msrp pricing?

If Jeep raises the msrp $500 on a Sport, I will delay my purchase for awhile. Hate to pay an additional $500 so close to launch. The longer I wait the better deal I should get once supply catches up to demand. Hopefully I can negotiate an additional $500 discount in 4-6 months. Take that FCA!
There will be one if not two more price increases this year. I would find one in stock (before this price increase) and buy it before they go up again.

I highly doubt the price increase has anything to do with proposed steel/aluminum tariffs. First, these increases are not implemented on the drop of a hat (the proposed tariffs just hit the news cycle) but carefully calculated by business managers and analysts based on real market data. Also, according to some experts, the increase in steel cost for a car if the proposed tariff is implemented is about $20, give or take, but certainly nowhere close to the $500 price increase on the Wrangler.

A lot more plausible is that the price increase is the result of record February sales for Wranglers.

Tarrifs increase the market price of all steel, not just imports. While I dont know what the cost increase will be for the Wrangler, $20 sounds an awful lot like fake news. Some experts wasn't from a Tweet was it?!

I was told the same thing by my local dealer when I ordered on 3/2. So if there were to be another price increase before I take delivery, it won't affect my deal as it is price protected according to them.

Yes that is great as others have been able to get this through their dealer as I am hoping I can as well. My post was just to point out that unless you have something that you and dealer signed that locks the price what most of us end up with is our order sheet states that prices can vary and they are not locked.
