Never hurts to go ahead and buy the filter, since they are supposed to be swapped out every 6 months anyhow.
Replace the cabin air filter every 20,000 miles per the JL/JLU User's Guide.

Do replace at least once a year, regardless of mileage!

Forgot you resided in Canada. Eh... your info under your user icon says CA . Change it to Canada.... :fingerscrossed: CA to us USA citzens is California or CA.
Remove the CA USA citizens, since CA wants to succeed from the normal 49 States.
Best suggestion... LOFAN...... Land of Fruits and Nuts...:giggle:

Not saying you're wrong in what you're saying, however I did the cabin filters in my JK and my wife's Ram every six months and they're pretty dirty when they come out. Both vehicles are non-smoker vehicles and get driven a less than 20k a year.

That said, my buddy has been doing the cabin filters on his trucks every 3k miles and he has noted they're dirty when they come out.

Yea I know 2018 Wrangler in their system is for the 2018 JK. Bosch makes the same mistake when you use their product finder. You have to select 2019 which they don’t have a product for. Just read the comments on amazon, many people bought it (including me) and found out the hard way.

Many dealers and service reps couldn’t differentiate the 2018 JL and the JK, don’t expect third party websites to..

So I was a little lazy with doing anything with the cabin filter on my JL. After seeing how this thing looks after only 12m/12k miles I think I'm going to be replacing every 6 months going forward.

Sure the manual says every 20k miles or one year, but let's be honest is $10-$15 extra a year REALLY going to break your wallet?

Does anyone have any non OEM part numbers for a 3.6L handy? Thanks
Nobody seems to know anything about the filter in the JL, but everyone has an answer. The end-result? Poor sods like this:

This is for the K&N, I just ordered one.
K&N VF2064
who are now waiting on a package they'll be sending right back to its point of origin.
UPDATE: I'M THE A**HOLE; K&N VF2064 FITS. PAY ATTENTION TO THE DIMENSIONS IF YOU ORDER ONLINE! Be skeptical if the picture has two filters (the OEM filter is one nearly square filter) but check against my measurements below for a sanity-check! As of this post (28-Jul-2019) Autozone et al. still lists the JK filter for the JL! If you just want to go buy a $15 FRAM filter from Walmart or $20 STP from Autozone, refer to the list below.

Every store I've seen is selling the JK air filters. I bought an air filter from Autozone that they'd looked up with their system (which is not unlike their site's search system), and when I got home is when I made my JK-filter moment.

Bulls***, thought I.

So I did what any red-blooded american would do when faced with the terrifying prospect of having to order from OEM and wait: I took my Jeep's factory filter out, swore at it, swore at the internet, swore at this forum, and I took measurements to use in my internet search for a non-oem filter (because this approach is proven to result in less effort and faster time than just giving in and ordering OEM). Three hours later, traced my factory filter on a piece of paper (two taped together actually) and cut it out and drove to Walmart. I pulled down every cabin air filter in the isle ( > 100 ) and held my template up for comparison. It was about 2:30AM, so this process was generally unimpeded. I found one that matched to within about an eighth of an inch in every dimension.

Here's the good stuff:

MEASURED Dimensions of factory cabin air filter (OEM PART# MOPAR 68301863AA) in my 2018 JL Rubicon Unlimited:
FILTER: 9-1/4" x 7-15/16" x 7/8"
FILTER SLOT: 9-3/8" x 8-1/16" x 15/16"

The filter I found at Walmart (which is what is presently installed in my JL) is the FRAM CF10728 (VERIFIED FIT)

After installation, I looked up the part number on the FRAM website, which has a feature which lists competitor-equivalent filters (which I have NOT verified but are supposed to be replacements for the VERIFIED FRAM CF10728):

The site also lists the vehicles for which this particular filter size applies (maybe you'll have better luck telling your autoparts store you have one of these cars instead of telling them you have a 2018+ JL):

Typical applications for CF10728:

The next day I took this information to the nearby Autozone who sold me the wrong filter to spread the gospel. The guy didn't give AF but I chose to dedicate the money I would have received back with a refund to the JL community, and I exchanged it for a filter from the above list that they had in stock as a sort of experiment. I can now also report that the STP CAF1846P is a VERIFIED FIT.

Let this be the end of it.

C'mon I could use the support here--did it fit?

I'm just waiting for someone to say "You put the two small JK filters in ___ by ___ ways to fit in the JL" or some ridiculously obvious thing.

It hasn’t been delivered yet, you’ll be the first to know what I find.
