I commented more at #5943, but no. They said Jeep did not let them know. Had I not called and started pushing, I still wouldn’t know I lost my order.

I know I went on a rant yesterday and it rubbed some the wrong way, but like every parent on dateline always says....I knew something happened to my baby. Ha I woke up yesterday and just knew something was going on and Jeep wasn’t telling me.
I've had the same thing happened to me. Was in status "I" for 24 days when I started to check with my dealer and found out that there was a new 9xxxxxx VON with a new VIN as of Feb 1st. The new ETA is 2-3 weeks from now.


Another interesting thing is that Southern California got its first shipment of JLs :) including my very first order (the one without the remote proximity keyless entry). My dealer called me excitingly that a car has arrived with my name on it. Of course, I immediately knew it must be my earlier order, and indeed it was so (exactly what I wanted, minus the remote proximity keyless entry.
He said he can sell it in a second hahah, which is true.
I might go and take a look at it as an appetizer if they do not sell it by then...

This stresses me out cuz today makes 3 weeks in inspection for me. I did email my dealer earlier this week and was told everything is fine-they're just backed up. But I wonder if this will happen to me and how I'll ever find out if it does!

I wonder if the original VON/VIN will still be in their system and just show you still in I. If they pull up the old VON will it let them know to check under a new VON?

My order went out Monday and have my VON as of last night...after speaking with the accessory department at my dealer I actually don’t mind waiting awhile, just gives me more time figure out what I’ll have done. Sucks that some folks have to wait longer than anticipated but regardless it’ll be worth it.

Some of you guys can’t be yelling at the Jeep chat people. It won’t get you anywhere, makes you look like a child, probably sets you back if anything, and not for nothing these people probably barely know anything. It’s probably some old outdated system that’s useless.

Have some patience.
Completely agree, no need to be rude although frustrating which can be a fine line... Curious how often people are reaching out to them for updates? Daily? Weekly? Would be interesting to know what everyone here is doing on that front and if they are getting overwhelmed with these request not allowing them to manage other issues properly. Thoughts?

Nobody let me know. After I started blowing all the whistles and called the dealer manager, they finally looked into it and just called me back. They said exactly what you said....apparently, after 3 months, and over 3 weeks in final inspection, they deemed it “unsellable” and started a “clone” order. Basically, I am back at square one. Which, to be honest, is fine. It happens to every brand and production line I’m sure. But what I don’t understand, and am a little upset about, is why is it still sitting in “I” status even after a new VIN was assigned? Why did I have to be the one to flag down the problem and when we’re they going to let me know? Ha I ordered this five months before I needed it and my wife said I was crazy. Crazy like a fox! Gonna need every day it appears ha :facepalm::swear: :cwl:
I've changed your VON on the sheet to update and took the old one off.

Ha, yeah....I was thinking about you and others when all this was going on. Hopefully yours is fine and all will go well. But I also wouldn’t put it past a sales guy to just “assume” everything was fine and tell you without knowing. But I wouldn’t panic until you start seeing new VINs and order dates like I did earlier this week ha

They should get notified.
My dealer was not notified Im sure. Took more than a week after I started to ask around everywhere to figure it out. Dealers are not checking the orders after it is placed in the system. They call you when the car arrives, thats it.

I know its just me sayin, but I would have known. Lazy people out there, but still responsible for informing their customers.

What is interesting about your comments is I had prox entry, too. I added it after the order was made bc I didn’t realize it wasn’t standard at the time I ordered and it wasn’t an option either. I wonder if the prox was the issue on mine (either defective or didn’t get added in time). Hmmm

I have been in JB status for over 2 weeks now and I do have the Remote Proximity Keyless Entry option.
