Here are my thoughts on this, keep in mind that I am no expert on this, but it would seem as though some of the orders may have been "reordered" by the factory. There have been members locked in ("I" "Built Not Ok'd"). This indicates that whatever caused the problem, was significant enough to start over hence the new VIN and order date! Who knows!

I am so frustrated as I languish in JB hell while other orders cruise on through. Its not lost on me how many people are suffering a worst fate. I asked this question days ago in a PM of @JeepCares but they don't respond.

@sfadchi is on this board as well and I am happy for him, seems like a good guy but as you can see he is in I already some 9 days after ordering and well @simpleJL and I are not!

It's infuriating!

snelldog I am in the same boat. over 15 days in JB. Ordered on 26 Dec. Over a month ago, expected date to dealer was 27 Jan. I ordered a fairly loaded JLU Rubicon, Red, tow pkg, dual tops. Not sure what the disconnect is. Jeep chat is useless. I called Jeep and asked it to be escalated. Supposed to get a call from someone today. I'll keep you posted.

I hear you @darylkeys but most orders didn't start processing for build until mid/late Dec. Most of those orders have since been built at the same time as a group.

What irritates me is that there is no manufacturing process that takes over two weeks. Once the parts are there, the car is basically built in a day. Add a few days here or there to get out to the different logistics channels (rail/truck) and the line keeps moving. My original delivery date was 27 Jan. It's been 16 days since it was built. I just want Jeep to be honest and tell me what is holding it up. If it's dual tops or something, they can have my dealer do a "we owe" and keep going. No need to hold it up over something trivial. I think the lack of transparency in the process leaves much to be desired. If UPS, et all can tell you where an inexpensive widget is throughout a process, Jeep should be able to track a $55k item through build. In this day and age, it is an expected part of the customer experience. Ironically I work for a supplier of IT advisory services to FCA so I think I am going to send some recommendations to my peer there.

You, Me, and I think about 2 others have had the longest wait of all tracked orders thus far.
If my ETA is Correct it will be 12 weeks from order to delivery. My dealer told me at the start that it would be 10-12 weeks. But hoping ETA gets updated to earlier date as setting at the Hub for 7-11 days seems high for a 60 mile drive to the dealer.

I thought I would post these two pics to see if anybody has a guess what is going on with my order/to better explain my frustrations.

You can see the order date and VIN have changed from what Jay has tracked all along vs what my sales rep provided in the last update. The order date went from 11/29 to February but yet all the other information remained the same (still has my name and all my options).

Any guesses/experience with this?

Nailed it! I am an analyst by trade, so I hope this settles some concerns for some members.

Yea, it looks like if you have a VON starting with a 9, it failed inspection and was re-ordered.
It seems to me to be a communication problem. The change notification went somewhere, and someone should have just "ripped the bandaid" off and let customers know what was going on, that might settle some of the frustration. But at least those that are in that situation know a little more now. Thank you for your efforts.

Some of you guys can’t be yelling at the Jeep chat people. It won’t get you anywhere, makes you look like a child, probably sets you back if anything, and not for nothing these people probably barely know anything. It’s probably some old outdated system that’s useless.

Have some patience.

Nobody let me know. After I started blowing all the whistles and called the dealer manager, they finally looked into it and just called me back. They said exactly what you said....apparently, after 3 months, and over 3 weeks in final inspection, they deemed it “unsellable” and started a “clone” order. Basically, I am back at square one. Which, to be honest, is fine. It happens to every brand and production line I’m sure. But what I don’t understand, and am a little upset about, is why is it still sitting in “I” status even after a new VIN was assigned? Why did I have to be the one to flag down the problem and when were they going to let me know? Ha I ordered this five months before I needed it and my wife said I was crazy. Crazy like a fox! Gonna need every day it appears ha :facepalm::swear: :cwl:

I commented more at #5943, but no. They said Jeep did not let them know. Had I not called and started pushing, I still wouldn’t know I lost my order.

I know I went on a rant yesterday and it rubbed some the wrong way, but like every parent on dateline always says....I knew something happened to my baby. Ha I woke up yesterday and just knew something was going on and Jeep wasn’t telling me.
