maybe it depends on options, but I’ve seen a lot of Rubicons with this gap and all the Saharas I’ve seen are clean with no gap.

Agree. Going to have wheel in air (rock crawl) = Rubicon. Going to have loose terrain (moderate trails/snow) = Sahara.

Then they can’t charge you for it though! And besides, I have grown to like the “ledge” at the bottom. I rest my hand (a few finger tips) there while I’m using the screen and it adds some “interest” to an otherwise bland dash (so would an extra inch of screen obviously... but)

That’s why the Jeep gets a bad crash test rating... because it doesn’t crumpled. If it was bad enough to bruise a chest, it’s bad enough to do damage to your organs! A good car with a good crumple zone would not have left the same bruising. It’s not a good thing the Jeep looks so good.
