Mounted ATV mirrors to my grab handles for Doors Off Driving:

These are "ATV Tek UTVMIR1 UTV" Side Mirrors from Amazon. 39$ each.

Looks good! Much vibration with these? especially compared to the hinge-mounted variety?

I went the hood hing mount single LED row for the noise reason alone there is no wind noise what so ever. I cannot imagine anyone needing the light output of a 50" bar unless you are growing weed in your garage in front of the Wrangler. The 30" hinge mount is more then I would ever need plus I have the cubes for side lighting, as well as another 17" on the bumper.

Flood, spot, or mixed? I really like the hood mount location for a discrete look & low wind noise. But, do you experience the hood glare I've heard others complain about? Do you think cubes on the cowls and a 20" on the bumper would be sufficient for most dark trails?

Yeah what whitegold said. I had thier 2.5 xfactor. Barely lifted it at all on my sport. It was less than my spacer lift. And then while the arms are beefy, having to cut out a big section of the bracket just to allow for more travel on the control arms was a nogo for me. They were bottoming out on the frame before i even used all my suspension travel. I was unhappy. Switched to metalcloak. Never going back. RK springs rode okay. Were a little soft for my liking though. For the money that was spent on it i was just very ehhhh about it all.

I installed MUYI 10 Kit 2 Pin Way Waterproof Electrical Connector so I can pull my Midland CB from my Jeep. I like my CB and with available weather has come in handy, but I was always nervous someone was going to take it. The install was easy and I use another connector to cover it so the prongs don't get dirty when it's not installed. So far it's been great and works perfectly. I thought I'd share.

but they would not admit it and denied everything. But whatever dont matter to me my metalcloak exceeds it in every way, and customer service is #1

While, probably illegal, many people use offroad lights (spots, lightbars,etc.) here in SW Arizona. We have many dark, dirt roads here. It's better to be seen, by other drivers and wildlife. Of course, turning them off when noticing other vehicles. I have several "neighbors" who are local, state, and sheriff law enforcement, I've never had a problem.

That is conflating, we are not discussing dirt roads, the point is they are technically not legal on the road, not including private or dirt service roads which is why the DOT regulates this. I am sure in flyover America in rural areas they are also used on dirt or empty back roads. You cannot be running with these blinding opposing drivers, imagine the liability and lawsuits you could face.

The point was that these LED's for 99% of us have little regular use, they are nice to have in the rare instances you need them

Cubes alone are fine for trails, how often will anyone be on the trails in the dark. While there are always exceptions it is likely rare for most. Hood glae is not been a problem so far however they are rarely turned on and 90% I am outside the wrangler using it for a task, even them they are so bright you cannot look at them. Like I said they are more cosmetic then functional, I am ok with that. There is more glare on the hood from the sun than the light simply due to the direct reflection of the sun and the lo angle beam of the light bar.


I think 10"-20" on bumper and cubes would be very good, you could also consider 6" bars on each cowl (I really like that look). Personally I am looking to switch my bumper bar to amber which will dramatically reduce the glare and provide a milder experience as well a usable light that will not blind anyone. If I was racing baja that 50" bar might be nice, but trail crawling I do not need to see 300 yards out.

I read through that entire thread you were in back in July, I don’t know what exactly went on there, very strange to say the least.

Hey Jim, How do you like the way the springs feel on and off road? What shocks are you running with your kit? Looking for some input, I’m looking at their 3.5 inch coils, been getting some mixed reviews, lol.

I think they ride great. I have the RK RRD 2.25 shocks on. On road with the combo I think it's about 5-10% stiffer than stock which I actually like as I felt the stock suspension was too squishy. Off road I find it just awesome. I live in the desert and end up on way too many washboarded and heavily rutted roads, I haul ass through these and you barely know they are there. I've never hit the bump stops on the bottom end, and I've bombed through more than a few "oh shit there's a huge hole in the trail" situations. For the slow crawling stuff I've got no complaints at all either. The only complaint I've got at all with the kit is that I have too much articulation in the front end, i'm going to have to install limit straps as I have almost shot out a coil spring on a couple of occasions. I'll take that problem. Problem is that ride quality is very subjective, so where I may really like what I have others may not. Also keep in mind that i'm running their entire kit, their shocks, and rolling on Mickey Thompson ATZ P3's which are a D-load rated tire (I run them at 28 PSI cold because of the stiff sidewalls). I also air down to between 17 and 20 PSI when i'm offroad. So there's a ton of factors involved in how a set of springs will feel to different people. I will say that several people who offroad have made comments about how amazing my Jeep rides both on and off road FWIW. I have a bunch of mods planned which will add some weight and will probably go to 37's when I swap out my axles, I fully plan in buying their 3.5 springs to update my lift. So, all that being said I am 110% satisfied, but i'm not sure how much of it is specifically the springs themselves or the entire setup as a group.
