I have one on my JK and no matter what I do, it is loud. I LOVE it but I am not sure I would put one on another Jeep. To put it in comparison, when you are driving on the highway and you get a heavy gust of wind that makes you say, "damn it is windy out" that is the way it sounds all the time on the highway.I had them on JKs as well. If you angle the light down slightly it makes them much quieter.
I'll try messing with the angle on this one as well. See what happens.
I went the hood hing mount single LED row for the noise reason alone there is no wind noise what so ever. I cannot imagine anyone needing the light output of a 50" bar unless you are growing weed in your garage in front of the Wrangler. The 30" hinge mount is more then I would ever need plus I have the cubes for side lighting, as well as another 17" on the bumper. Truthfully they mostly for aesthetics who really uses their external LED bars/cubes very often since they are not street legal anyway. So in one year I Used the bar twice both times to take the dog on a potty break while camping (even then I did not need them on). I Like the look of the 50" just no way around the added wind noise especially with a double row...I have one on my JK and no matter what I do, it is loud. Have you tried angling it down a bit? It won't be silent but it also won't make loud whistling and spaceship noises.I have one on my JK and no matter what I do, it is loud. I have a single row Luminex lightbar, but heck, I will try it! Thanks Carlton. I will let you know if this helps!Have you tried angling it down a bit? It won't be silent but it also won't make loud whistling and spaceship noises.
There is no way in hell you can drive on the roads in any state with any light bar turned on (whith the exception of a few small amber light bars that are DOT approved), the light bar would also have to be DOT certified/approved and the glare rating alone would disqualify. Light bars are blinding I cannot even look at mine without immediately discomfort and seeing stars. Carlton you may want to check the law again. You drive with your Light bars on the road yo are going to injure or kill someone.Well Illinois did just legalize... lol
LaRue makes good stuff, too!Just over a year of ownership (5,200 miles) and have added the one sticker.

I was referring to the growing weed with the light bar comment. Illinois just legalized pot. While, probably illegal, many people use offroad lights (spots, lightbars, etc.) here in SW Arizona. We have many dark, dirt roads here. It's better to be seen, by other drivers and wildlife. Of course, turning them off when noticing other vehicles. I have several "neighbors" who are local, state, and sheriff law enforcement, I've never had a problem.
Fantastic! I hadn't looked much yet but I was thinking to get something like this and wire it up to one of my aux buttons. This is just what I had in mind.I used this Warn kit (purchased on Amazon):

but they have tons of solenoids that can be used for winches:
