What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I prefer them off for sure...

Unless you running 37" tires or larger I think caps off dont look right on Mopar steel bumper. Its too....(what's the word).....stubby.

To much space it leaves in between tire and frame my opinion

I have 35" tires...put them back on almost as soon as I took them off.

I prefer the stubby - even with the 33" ko2s.

Upgraded RK xfactor lift from 2.5 to 3.5 front and 4.5 rear, well mostly done needed shorter shock extension bolts for the front, Those are temporary until fox 2,5’s are out.

Will send more pics when in the ground and cleaner...

This is on my to do list, when you say chipping, what from, heat or rocks / gravel etc. from wheeling? And would it pay to use high heat paint like for engine blocks etc... thanks for any insight....

I painted mine with Rust-oleum BBQ Black High Temp 8mos ago. No Signs of wear yet. I just light sanded it and wiped it down with rubbing alcohol, easy. Painted it right on the jeep, got the top too.

Keep me posted if you would. I have a Mopar/ rk lift. I have Mopar springs and shocks, all eight rk xfactor control arms, rk track bars, rk spring isolators and front coil spacers. It’s working great! Since I got 3.5 inches of lift with it I haven’t changed the springs out. But I’m eventually going all rk and would like to know how the 2.5 fox shocks do with rk springs. I have the 2.5 fox shocks now but they’re for a 2” lift, so not as much travel but they work really good. What front diff skid is that, I like it.

Looking great. I did the same yesterday with Rustoleum high heat. Hope to achieve the same longevity.

I've done that on my JK. It burned off pretty quickly, unfortunately. How did you get it to stay so long?

It's mostly in the surface preparation. I use 200 grit sandpaper and then wipe it down with rubbing alcohol. Let it dry, then 3 coats of high temp paint, no primer.

Looks good. Question for you: did you have to drill the frame and install a nursert in? I saw a vid on YouTube where a guy had to do that, but I didn’t see it mentioned in MetalCloaks instructions. Just curious how your install went?

No drilling needed. Reused 3 existing bolts and 2 nuts. All other hardware was provided and went into existing holes.

I think you nailed it except the JW logo maybe could be slightly bigger actually. Proportionally looks a bit small for the JL.

Rancho front diff skid.

I talked to Jeremy from RK he recommended the fox shocks.

The ones for 4.5 lift matched the RK length spec better so I got those we will see.

I am running the tereflex 2.1 for 2-3 lift with 2 inch spacers to test. The extension looks great. As for ride I have to get out of bed torque some bolts and put tires on to find out. lol.

While I agree with you on the look, I measured the G Wagon doors and they are actually under an inch smaller than the JL’s. Proportionally it is fine. I don’t know why they put such small logos in Jurassic World. My YJ has bigger Jurassic Park logos.

Yes, they pop up quick and slow as they near full-open. Easily unclipped at the top or bottom to fully open if needed.
