Thanks for the link to the Cobra kit. Do you know of a how-to thread for running the cable from the front to the rear, inside the tailgate and out the back?

I do not. You have to start at the back in order to get the cable thru the tailgate.

Just dropped my JL off at dealer for a steering shimmy over bumps at highway speed (not quite death wobble). They said they have replaced a bunch of dampener and there is another updated part about to be released. They are also doing my track bar recall and said they may not be able to release it back to me until Jeep looks at the pics and makes a decision.

Sweet! They look great. Did you have any install issues? I'm going to pick mine up from UPS tomorrow. I can't install til May as I'm going to be away for a month.

Thanks! A third hand would have been handy but I figured it out by using my knees to hold brackets in place while starting the screws. Keep the brackets somewhat loose until you have the step bolted to the brackets, then tighten everything. The middle bracket was the culprit on both sides for being a bit far away for the short bolts to grab hold. All in all it went quite well tho.

Looks like you went in the correct direction with the frame mounted ones. I’ve been looking at these as possible sliders/steps. Was hoping that perhaps they would also help keep some road debris off the Jeep from the front tires as well.
