I finally found out how to find your Wrangler date off assembly line. Sticker is on driver's door.
Mine was completed April 13 th. at 7:00 PM. At dealer May 26 th.

Vehicle Certification Label

wk_certification_labels.jpg

A vehicle safety certification label is attached to every Chrysler Corporation vehicle. The label certifies that the vehicle conforms to all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. The label is located on the driver-side door shutface.

On the example above, "Date of MFR" is listed as "1-96" which is "January 1996". At the bottom left of the plate the Month, Day and Hour of manufacturer is listed as "MDH 010615", this means that the vehicle was built January ("01"), 6th ("06") at 3:00PM ("15").

The label also lists:

  • Month and year of vehicle manufacture.
  • Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). The gross front and rear axle weight ratings (GAWR's) are based on a minimum rim size and maximum cold tire inflation pressure.
  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Type of vehicle
  • Type of rear wheels
  • Bar code
  • Month, Day and Hour (MDH) of final assembly
  • Paint and Trim codes
  • Country of origin

Installed my front bumper yesterday and today I installed the winch. Still need to tension the rope, but done for now.

Yup, I’m more into camping/overlanding (as much as one can in 2 door). Will be loading all up in three weeks and heading towards Moab for the EJS. Thinking of heading to SW Colorado for a few days then be in Moab on the 17th through Easter Sunday. Went out and took a few more pics of the platform (as best I could installed).

I used this a ton in my JK and didn’t have to do much more than modify the brackets where they bolt to the rear seat belts studs to make it work in the JL. When tail gate is locked everything underneath is secure and I can get a two burner propane stove on one side with all my recovery gear, tools, Viair compressor along with other crap on the other side. All camping gear & ARB 37 fridge can then go on top. I strap all down with ratchet straps when not on pavement but the fridge is strapped down front and rear all the time.

So darn useful. Wish somebody would manufacture something like this. You can also lock it to be secure if top off.

Haha! I thought “30 minutes to open some pork and beans?” You two are chefs! But I tell you, snow...I don’t know about that! It’s in the 40’s at night here, and it feels COLD!
Will make that pork and beans as soon as Lent is over. (I didn’t see many beans in your plate) but I won’t post it, just let you know how it turned out.
Anyway, Jenn and you sure know how to camp in grand style! Thanks!

That was the first time we set up on snow, not as bad as you would think. 30 minutes is a lot to open a can of beans? Lol

I lowered the top on my Jeep for the first time since I brought her home. The weather was perfect, and I have the sunburn to prove it. :sun: Anyone else notice that the when the top is lowered, that it rattles a little bit in the track/rail?

I was also getting some pretty bad flapping of the seat belts, but was able to stop it by fastening them back onto themselves.

Can't wait to see those bronze Methods mounted. That was going to be my choice until I found out that the Jeep would not fit into the garage with any upgrades.
Steve, I gotta say you should dive in. The height increase is less than an inch. :)

See post 9937 way back on page 663 for what I did, couple other options around that post. Now I use a jtop boot when the top is down, have that posted someplace as well
