I am looking at either the Rubicon Express 2.5 inch lift with monotube shocks or the Teraflex ST suspension kit. Any suggestions? I know Teraflex is highly regarded but nit sure about rubicon Express. Thanks.

In my days of working a lot on TJs, Rubicon Express made the best lift kit, period. Can’t speak to their work on the JL. If it is the same quality as they were in the past, you can’t beat it.

I had a 3.5” Rubicon Express Lift kit on my 16’ JKUR. Not a bad lift but not great either. They use Bilstien mono tube shocks on their upgraded sport kits which is what I had. To me those shocks where way to stiff. Rode very rough in my opinion. I did the Mopar 2” lift on my JLUR and couldn’t be happier. Rides well other than general JL steering. Looks a little short to me but I can fit 37” tires with this lift on a Rubicon which is what’s important.

I heard they were sold since the TJ days. Not as reputable as they once were.

Hey Arthur,

I have a 2 door Rubicon on 35"KO2’s. I have Rock Krawler 2.5" springs, Fox IPF 2.0 shocks, Steer Smarts track bar, tierod and drag link Assy, stock steering stabilizer, Metal Cloak front lower controlarms and EVO LCA drop brackets. Very happy with this setup.

I had Teraflex 4" lift on my 2008 JK and 3.5" Rock Krawler flex system with Rancho 9000’s on my 2014 JK. They both performed well.

The went bankrupt and were bought out buy the parent company of 4wp. They initially made some improvements, believe it or not, then things started sliding downhill with quality control.

Bilstien makes the shocks but won’t let them brand them because they are spec’d below bilstien brand quality control. If you ever see a old set of rubicon express bilstiens they are 5100’s. They haven’t been that way in quite some time. Sad, because I had an lj and a cj that rode like Cadillacs on rubi express suspension.

I’m going ST1 or ST2. That’s just me, I like Falcon. I’ve never heard of Rubi Express.

Yummy
I heard about falcon when teraflex released the 147 adjustable setting (being sarcastic of course) shocks for the jk maybe a year or two ago and I have known about rubicon express for a little over a decade. Lol. Times they are a changing.

I’m 32 years old and I’ve known about Falcon since I was 9 years old. What’s your point?

Rubicon Express was founded in 1996 lol

Falcon: 1950’s

Hmm...
I’m learning something new every day. The first aftermarket Jeep parts I have seen were smittybilt kaiser cj5 roll cages from the early 70’s. Didn’t know falcon was making shocks back then. Crazy.
