I'm confused. I ordered the Rubicon and I did not get the 8.4 inch screen. Mine has the 7 inch one. I asked the dealer about why I might want to get the bigger one and they really said there wasn't much difference, so I elected not to get it. However, now I am wondering if I am going to be able to get off road pages. I can't see where I am, but I don't see where I don't. It doesn't make sense that you could spend that much money on a Rubicon and not get it??

off road pages are only for the 8.4 inch screen, unless they changed something for 2019.

The 8.4" screen is not just a bigger screen on the head unit. It represents the UConnect 4C behind it, a generation newer than the 7". Although they are similar, it's not just about screen size...

The 7" also doesn't come with the subwoofer in the back and/or upgraded speakers as far as I know.

Probably not. You have until it reaches D status to make changes.

There's also a whole thread on here about Jeepers who have upgraded from the 5" or 7" to the 8.4" for less than the cost of the full package. Maybe that's the best of both worlds? You should talk to your dealer and see if the order has been confirmed. If it's a custom order, it can be changed up until it's scheduled for production (in D status, like BillG said).

going by the dealership first thing on Monday morning. Doing research. It *looks* like I can add the 8.4 inch screen AND get the alpine audio for "free".

AND I also appears that IF I add the cold weather package, I will get the garage opener for free and maybe the auto start, but that's too good to be true, I would think.

Yes - 8.4 comes with premium speakers and subwoofer as a package.

Cold weather package adds seat heaters (front) and steering wheel heater, as well as remote start. Garage door opener is standard equipment on all Rubicons (and Saharas).

It's just amazing. I decided to go ahead and add the steel bumper...boom...another 1200 bucks. I need a loop thing for the bumper...300 dollars.....a low profile winch.....1200 dollars. What in the world does everyone in here do for a living?
