Maybe I'm just losing my mind.
When I hit the speak button on the steering wheel, and say "call so and so" it says there are no contacts in my phone book. If I hit the green phone button, my contacts are all displayed, but I have to try scrolling they as I drive to find someone.
Is there something I need to do to import my phone book contacts? Using Android auto and I have " share contacts" checked off on the phone settings. It's been driving me crazy since I got the jeep, and I can't find anything in the manual that I haven't done.
Thanks!

I have apple CarPlay. When I’m plugged in, I have to say “hey siri, call…”. If I press the speak button I have same issue. Think that only applies to Bluetooth?

I think it more or less applies to UConnect being shit. Every time I get in my Wrangler it has to redownload my contacts and can never remember favorites. It's freaking useless.

Thanks!

My Android Auto has been pretty flakey since my phone (OnePlus 10 Pro) updated to Android 13. It worked perfectly every time while the phone was running Android 12, and it worked perfectly with my old OnePlus 6 phone running both Android 10 and Android 11.

Now it takes me several attempts to get Android Auto up and running and often I just give up and don't even bother connecting anymore.

I ended up manually adding 5 contacts to my "Favorites" using the UConnect phone icon and that works perfectly every time.

Not sure if this is an Android 13 issue, a OnePlus issue, or a UConnect issue.

Ok, so it isn't just me. That makes it less frustrating and more frustrating at the same time :)

Not sure if this is an Android 13 issue, a OnePlus issue, or a UConnect issue.
I've had trouble with my Note 10, S21 FE, and now my Pixel 6. Never worked properly with any of them regardless of the OS or the quality of the cable or the port I've used.

How do you add contacts with the UConnect phone icon?

I just hold the OK button for a second or two. Google assistant wakes up and grants my wish.

How do you add contacts with the UConnect phone icon?

From page 63 in the UConnect 8.4 manual;

- Once you've connected your phone, tap the phone icon on the screen
- Tap the "Favorites" icon
- Tap the “+Add favorite Contact" icon
- Select the contact that you want to appear in each of the 5 spots

You can also tap on the "Contacts" icon and scroll through all the contacts on you phone, then tap the star and add a contact to your Favorites that way.

If you have more than one phone number for a given contact (Home, Cell, Work etc.), you can select which number you want to have associated with that contact.

Oh man, I've done that about 8 times. They're always gone within 1 or 2 restarts of the Jeep if not the very next. I thought you meant the Uconnect app on your phone.

Sorry, there's no way to add contacts from the Uconnect App.

Definitely sounds like something is wonky with either your UConnect or your phone. The only time I've had to redo my Favorites is when I changed phones.

Favorites never stick, either in my previous 19 or current 22. I've given up too.

Can I not add multiple numbers for my, say, my wife> Cell, Home, Work all on her favorite line?

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you can only have one number per contact, so if you want to have three different numbers for your wife, you would have to use 3 of the 5 favorites spots to do that.

That's what I've found but each Favotie Contact has a drop down arrow where it looks as if 2 more numbers can be inserted, for that contact. Empty spaces otherwise.
