Uconnect 5 weather app never worked

I have seen alot of comments on RAMs not having the weather app not work but not much on the 24 Wranglers. I have up to date software, still have my sirus subscritipns but the app keeps telling me to check my subscription. I did a facotry reset on it today after the dealer scratched their head said "well thats odd, heres your keys" Has anyone found a solution on this, my 2018 app had no issues at all? Maybe @JeepCares has an idea?

The traffic and weather is an optional feature of Sirius Service radio.
The standard service only gives you radio channels only.

Have your radio's ID number and give them a call. They can fix you right up.

I have a 2020 Ram. The radar feature still don’t work well after updates. It did fix the radio features

Part of the issue is there is no place to find clear answers anymore. Even on Jeeps page its a clear as mud what gets included and what is subscrtion based. I assume thats the point is not make it clear then you have no expectaions. I thought i read its handled by Tom Tom now and you only get it for 3 months. In my 2018 JLUR it was for 5 years with sirus. Just another way to try to milk a suscrption from you. It was nice to get a pop up that weather was moving in.

Have you gone back to check and see if the hard reset fixed your problems? It takes a while for the system to completely reboot.
I was having an issue with the weather and “traffic flow” not being displayed. Couldn’t get the “activate services” thing to ever work. I was also not seeing the infamous off road pages or trail app they pushed so hard with the ‘24s.

Did a hard reset - let it sit for half an hour, went back and started up the Jeep, everything up and running as it should be.
Wipes out all your saved stuff, presets, paired phones, preferences, etc… but it definitely worked for me.

Iirc, the offered trials all changed at the start of MY24, but prior, the uConnect weather/radar app was part of the free 5-year SiriusXM Travel Link trial (completely separate service from the SiriusXM Radio, Traffic and Guardian subscriptions, which are/were 3 separate connected services with varying free trial lengths, not including the also separate Wi-Fi Hotspot service/trial).

So, maybe there's now a shorter 3-month trial for the Travel Link service like the Radio trial? Think the Guardian trial was extended from 1-year to something longer. I use the weather app all the time (MY23) and it still works well.

Yeah, there's really not one single place anywhere that tells you exactly what trials you're getting with a new vehicle purchase (and how they differ between MY23 and MY24).

The best Jeep's own website states is under "standard features" on their build-and-price tool, but that only mentions 3-month for the SiriusXM 360L (Radio) trial and nothing else..

The Jeep uConnect site is a little better, but doesn't differentiate between years (appears to be MY24, since the weather app is likely under the 3-month "TomTom Traffic and Travel Services, while previously under the 5-year "SiriusXM Travel Link" trial for MY23 and prior).

I've been wanting to know if I still have active SOS and Roadside Assistance, but have no idea if I do under the 10-year (Safety and Security Package) or don't, because it's under the 1-year SiriusXM Guardian trial. Total confusing clusterduck and frankly dangerous, if someone's actually expecting to make an SOS call when needed.

For what it's worth, if you're using Apple CarPlay the "My Radar" weather app has just been enabled to work on CarPlay.

I stay away from all things SiriusXM. Sometime back my wife had it on her car under my account and later when we was no longer contractually obligated, decided she no longer needed the service. It was next to impossible to cancel, even to the point where we lied to them and told them I recently suffered a profound hearing loss and it rendered the audio useless they said "Sorry to learn that but we are still going to not let you cancel"

Sharks they are.

I'm suppose to have a Sirius XM free trial on my 24 392 that has never worked. I'm also supposed to have Adventure Trails app too that I can not get to download after Factory Resets. Jeeps cares jut tells me to Factory Reset, Connect Cares has not idea what I am talking about and the dealer says yeah none of this works on the new jeeps right now and they don't know how to fix.

I am beyond FRUSTRATED after buying a $100k Friggin' Jeep and these nice luxury items I was told Id have and sold on do not work!! HELLO JEEP?!?!?!

Not really, I think it comes down to only giving you 3 months of trial period. It would be a nice feature since my ‘18 JLU would give weather and storm updates. Sucks they are trying to milk every cent, they can before you can even try things. Maybe if given a year to try I might’ve seen value but by the time I tried use it-it didn’t work and just say error instead update a subscription.
