I prefer to live the life of a normal person... that does not go out of my way to offend, nor go out of my way to get offended.

You see a lot of people just digging for a reason to get upset. Take a look at people in an uproar over something Kevin Hart said 15 years ago...

On the other hand you'll have people outright shouting racial slurs at as many people as they can and then crying foul when they get knocked out.

A lot of this is the polarized news channels and the amount of attention they pay to controversy rather than actual news... Its why I ignore all of them and just live my life....

The thing about free speech is: it's either restricted or it's not. The ONLY type of speech that's protected is offensive speech b/c no one has a problem with speech that doesn't offend anyone.

As for getting knocked out for saying something offensive: Nothing you can say, short of an imminent threat of physical violence, justifies using violence against someone else. Sticks and stones and all that.....

My point being, people should live their own lives and give each other space and common respect. I am not attempting to justify assault, or inciting riot or any other crime.

Ya, often....if it escalates to the point of physical violence, deadly force may be a real option since you never know how far it will go.

Sad. There was a time in this country where people would fight and be friends right after. Now, it's much more prevalent for a fight to escalate to someone being beaten to death over the stupidest of reasons.
