I just got my 2019 Jeep JL Rubicon and I'm having issues with the start stop or the transmission. I will drive it and it looses power. Mostly when I'm stopped and I start to go. I even turned off the start stop feature. Today I floored it and the RPM went up, but the Jeep didn't move. At park it acts like it wants to die, and sometimes shakes, and that is with with start stop turned off. It almost acts like bad gas, but I don't think that is it. The issue started around 700 miles, which, matches a complaint from someone who bought a 2019 Jeep Cherokee.

Need help, is anyone having this issue?

If taking it back to the dealer that you purchased it at is an option, I would say do that. Keep a small log of the issues that you are having and what you were doing when it happened (time/date - going uphill/downhill. stopped - lack of power). Your best bet is to figure out how to reproduce it so you can show them. If you cannot reproduce it or they cannot, there will be no issue to diagnose.

You will want to distinguish between the start/stop feature and the transmission. So if the issue happens the same way with start stop enabled/disabled, it's not really an issue with that and more the transmission or something else. You have tied in start/stop for a reason so maybe it is related just want to confirm. The part where it acts like it wants to die at idle might be related to the battery/alternator...aka charging system so you could take a look at that but with 700 miles and a warranty, I would have them figure it out. Plus you might get one of those mini vans as a loaner so there is always that :)

If raising the RPM while in gear does not move the vehicle, there is an issue that needs to be looked at. I mean there is Hill Start Assist that will hold you from rolling back but that doesn't do what you described.

When you floored while in gear and the Jeep didn't move what did you do after to get it to move?

Hi drjhenrichs,
Congrats on your new Jeep! We understand how concerning this may be. We suggest having your dealer look into this. You may also send us a private message if you would like any additional assistance while your Jeep is at the dealer.

That is all good info. I took it back to the dealer after Christmas and they have not gotten to it yet. But since posting originally the check engine light came on, and the vehicle gave me a service start stop system. But the dealer said despite the check engine light, and my photos I had, they would have to reproduce the issue. But it only happens when you have been driving it for a while. It also only happens between 0-10 mph, and not while on the highway. The last time it happened we turned onto a busy 3 lane road, and it died. Then the system told us we had to put the car back in park, and then drive. Luckily the cars behind us slowed down. I just need the dealership to figure this out, because that is a safety issue.

I just got my Jeep Sport S back today with exactly the same symptoms you had, except mine completely died on me at 2700KM.
It turned out to be a bad alternator (although i've only had it back a day, so i hope this is the final root cause).

I think these symptoms are indicative of any number of electrical issues, all with the common result of a low voltage situation. I say this because while it was the alternator in my case, i have also heard people with the EXACT same symptoms having it resolved by replacement of either one of the two batteries, or re-seating connectors, or IBS sensors, or loose fuses.

Best of luck and please report back on the root cause. More info is better for everyone.

Update: The code that came up was for a fuel pump. The part is on back order. The dealership said it could be couple weeks to a couple months. Letā€™s hope this is the fix. I did have a Ford Escape that acted the same way, and it was also a fuel pump. I believe someone else here said they had a fuel pump issue. The fact that the part is way back ordered makes me think they may have some issues nation wide with this part, and other Jeep owners may have the issue. I hope
Not.

I have a 2019 Rubicon and Iā€™m having the same issues with the start/stop. Itā€™s been in the shop more than Iā€™ve drive it and I havenā€™t paid the first payment.

I have a brand new 2019 Rubicon with the 2.0 turbo. Iā€™ve had issues from day one. The start/stop has been a problem less than 24 hours after buying this Jeep. Itā€™s very disappointing because I love Jeep.

Just remember, if parts availability means your vehicle is down for over 30 days, in most states that qualifies you for a replacement or refund under your state's lemon law.

There was a ton of '19 JL builds that were stuck in I (Inspection) for 30+ days. It was mentioned multiple times it was a wiring harness issue of some type but nothing more that I remember. My order was one of those. I have almost a thousand miles on my 2.0 JL Rubicon and no issues yet.

Update: My Jeep is still in the shop, and they replaced the fuel pump, and three other parts and can not get anywhere on resolving the issue. It has now been over 30 days. Can anyone reply back who had been in this situation, what part was it in the end? They started with fuel pump, and that is not it, even though it had a code.
