People that have gone from "sporty" rides to a Wrangler... be honest now... do you regret it?

Mustang hasn't left the garage in 6 months since I can actually drive over speed bumps without worrying about ripping the exhaust off. I really only miss the sound of the Mustang.
You should put an exhaust on the Jeep.

I traded in my '06 Corvette w/Z51 (track suspension) for my JLUR. I had 720 whp and 630 rwtq in my vette with just over 48k miles on it. Do i miss it? Sometimes I do, my daughter does for sure lol. But the Wrangler lets me have a different kinda of fun when in the mountains. The vette wasn't a daily driver for me and neither is my JLUR, at least not for another two years until my daughter gets my daily. This is my first jeep as well, so its a new experience all together for me, but i enjoy going out in it and a seeing places i normally wouldn't with a sports car.

Haven't gotten my JL yet but no issues moving between vehicles with my JK.

I will just say it how it is. Wranglers are special. For people that like these there is something about them. I am not sure I can put my finger on what I loved about mine or what I've loved about every Wrangler I have driven but of all the vehicles I have ever owned Wrangler is my favorite and I purchase a new vehicles every few years. I am at the point now I am done looking at all these different vehicles and just coming to accept that while certain vehicles are fun and certainly enjoyable, for my lifestyle a Wrangler is hands down my preference.

Regarding some of these higher end performance vehicles, there are some things that REALLY suck with ownership you're getting ride of I NEVER have or had to worry about with my Jeep. As far as the experience, your Wrangler isn't going to pull a 0-60 in under 4 seconds or beg to be pushed wherever you going. You climb into your Jeep and just know you'll get there when you get there so enjoy actually driving lol.

I watched a security feed of a lady who was grossly obese beat the shit out of my front fender trying to get into her car in a parking garage. It was sickening (her life expectancy too sadly) to watch my Jeep get banged up like that but for me I looked at it like its a mans vehicle. I never washed it. always thought it looked badass dirty. Had that have been one of my luxury cars, I would have lost my shit. That is stress I don't need.

One year, I went 7 months straight without a top in KC area. Anyone from this area knows we 100+ humid days to -10 and serious snow. I couldn't count the times I went full send in rain storms and just didn't care and it felt almost free. Would I keep the panoramic roof open if it was even sprinkling on my car? Nope. I am 100% ready to get my JL.
Totally agree. I would lose my shit if I got a little rock chip on my previous cars. I don’t stress out with my wrangler. There is a different level of stress when owning a Jeep. I’m still struggling with not being able to go fast and just take time to enjoy the ride. But this is also a problem with me in life. I need to slow down and look around more. But, for now, I can hop on my cbr1000rr and get my fill for speed.

Same here - though mine was a Mini John Cooper Works. Great car & ranks up there with the Porsche 944 I used to have. I’ve also had Jeeps all my life (seven of them, dating back to my 1979 CJ7), so I’ve got a pretty good handle on what to expect with them. I’ve also been driving a JKU and the JCW concurrently for the last 6 years, so transitioning between the two is second nature at this point.

I’m impressed by how the 2018 JLUR handles the road. While not a sports car, it has a much sportier feel than the JKU & I really enjoy driving it & putting it through the gears. Like the JCW, my JLUR is also a 6-speed manual, which helps. I don’t drive it as aggressively as the Mini (nor should it be!), but it’s just as fun.
Ya it’s totally different and I’m still getting used to it especially how low the idle is and how soft the clutch is along with the fear ratio. I’m not used to going 75 with 2000 rpm

I still have my 2008 Corvette convertible but am enjoying my new JLU Rubicon. The top of the Vette comes off and on easier for the road but the Jeep is more fun off-road.

What a silly userid and first name too! JK
Had a 2007 convertible but now have a 2018 Grand Sport. Managing to suffer thru having a Rubicon and the Vette. Life is tough but someone has to bear the burden.

I kept my sporty ride and if the Wrangler would steer well, I would like to keep it also. Running out of patience with the play in the steering.

I sold my Mustang and traded my Ram 1500 for this Jeep. I had bought both when I was living in SoCal and they did fine when I was living down in Jacksonville, NC near the beach.

Now that I'm living where winter actually happens I've realized that RWD V8s are fun only in good weather. This winter I will be more prepared, and while I do miss the raw power of the Hemi, and the sharp steering of the Mustang I think the peace of mind of the wrangler in bad weather is good. Not to mention it is pretty fun flinging mud everywhere on a trail. :like:

I miss my challenger so much. 400hp at the wheels and tuned just how i like it. Had staggered setup with 375s. Best 0 to 60 was 4.10 seconds in a 6spd manual. Completely blacked out. The LSU players i used to be around and my clients loved it. Frickin thing looked like the batmobile in your rearview mirror.

But it was shit in the winter. So i would have been likely to sell it anyway if i hadnt been hit last april. It was totalled.

We have a JLR, 2014 Porsche Boxster s, and a Mercedes CLK 350 AMG coupe. My comments are: if you like to drive fast and the required performance to drive fast, you will get tired of the jeep. If your fortunate enough, I would strongly recommend keeping your performance car to trade off. I love our jeep and probably drive it more but it does get old and I switch to a sports car. If you have a sports car but don’t really drive it aggressively then you may not miss it buying a JL.

Ok I was an owner of a 2016 ZO6 corvette. I also owned 2 more before this one. My second car everyday driver was a Jeep jk 2010. But Nothing compared to my corvette. I mean the compliments I got on my ZO6 corvette were like none I ever got before. It was a beautiful sports car. So let’s talk. I couldn’t drive the corvette anywhere. Couldn’t take it to dinner, movies, events, just anywhere I couldn’t keep my eyes on it. Always worrying that if I parked in a lot or on the street someone would scratch it or just open a door on it. After 3 corvettes I was done. Got rid of it and went and purchased a New Jeep JL. First off I was amazed at the difference in speed and power of new Jeep. I still have the 2010 JK Jeep. Been through a lot with that baby but again this JL wows me ever time I drive it. Here’s the kicker I get more compliments than I did when I owned my corvette lmao. I modified it and really bought out the look of Hot Jeep JL. Ok so it cost a little to up grade but nothing in comparison to the corvette. I do everything with my new JL. Take it out to go to the movies, dinner whatever and never worry about it getting dented or a door opening on it. Shoot, their door will get dented if it hits my Jeep. I mean the thing is a tank, period. So NO WAY DO I REGRET MY NEW JL! Love it and love it again.

I just like to drive different cars and switch every two or three years. One car I always wanted since I was a kid and never got was a Jeep. So in July I went from a Porsche Macan S (which I really liked) to a JLUR and haven't looked back, and the only thing I miss is the proximity unlock. I hate having to dig in my pocket for the monstrous key.

I do think going forward I will keep a Jeep, it's versatile, love the customizing piece, the community and it's just lot of fun and I don't have to worry about keeping it clean either, I love that.

I'm in the process of selling my 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE and will be buying a '19 JLUR shortly. I've been a sports car guy my whole life but have always had my eye on a Jeep. I know I'm going to miss the ridiculous power but given the huge aftermarket support I'll still have the chance to make the Jeep my own and that's half of the fun. What I'm looking forward to most is the reduced maintenance bill. I just put tires on the Camaro for the 3rd time in a year at $1,400 each time. If I can get 30k miles out of a set of KO2's I might cry.

Plus there's always a hellcat swap if I need more power...

This is a vastly under-rated advantage to Jeep ownership. On my "go-fast" cars, I always felt guilty if they weren't clean.
