AC outlet, those that have it, what are you using it for?

Does this outlet come on all trims, or with a certain package, or just Rubis etc..

I have it in my Sahara. I’ve tried a few items in the outlet without success (require too much juice I suppose), but it has powered some small tools and the like. Nice to have, though not the most useful outlet.

I have it hooked up to a battery charger that charges my starting battery. I figure if it’s getting charged by AC, then the alternator gets a break, saving me gas!

I use it for my jackery 500 while the jackery is plugged into my fridge. Works perfect keeps jackery at full charge while driving. I discovered that the plug is only live while vehicle is running so it will never run battery down.

I can verify 2 things...
You can't run an electric leaf blower off it & it auto resets when you unplug the leaf blower.

I believe it provides up to 120-150watts of power, so it’s weak and is meant for laptop and other chargers and small items that don’t need more than about 1 amp of current. Any light duty device should be okay. Just don’t go plugging in a fridge or a blow dryer or an electric stove into it haha

Though, if you do that and end up popping the breaker, it will automatically self-initiate once you unplug the device. So no worries there.

I plug a charger for my phone into it. A 120v phone charger will charge much faster than the usb port or keep a tablet charged while using it for navigation or other surfing.

Are you referring to an actual household refrigerator?

I've used mine in a pinch, when our electicity is out at the house and I need a shower. Our water heater is a tankless, gas type with electronic ignition. The JL or my truck have plenty of power to work the ignition.
