Yes, that is exactly how they work. The are very quick and easy to put on, adjust and then take off.
For me, these replaced the mirrors that go through windshield hinge and work great.

Called my SE Wisconsin dealer last week about the TSB. The rep wasn’t aware of the TSB but looked it up after I gave him the number. He then said “ok, I’ll order parts, will Tuesday work?”
I dropped off early this am and was eagerly anticipating the call saying everything is done. A call...
Great info, thanks. I wish I read this yesterday as I checked everything last night after about 80 miles. I ended up using the blue loctite and out of all 20 lugs only one lug moved when I re-torqued. I didn't reapply the locktite though. Guess I'll do that at the next check.
Thanks,
JD
I found this "What Loctite to Use" guide. Not certain about the source or who the audience is but here it is. Also says in most cases blue is the go to choice.

I agree. I was able to get two on (one front, one back & different sides) pretty well with no rattling and worked well. But the other two were a struggle all year. I’m hoping for better results this year.
I wasn’t a fan of the size of the mirrors that came with the doors and I also wanted mirrors that I could use with doors off too. So I got the Motor City mirrors which are very easy to put on, study and stable when driving.
If you are looking for an alternative inexpensive tube door mirror...

I just got this a kit like this too. So I get you cut off the switch, relay and fuse combination piece then I have two sets of wires for each light. Then just twist the two hot's and two ground's together and connect?
Thanks
