How does this work if the vehicle is off? Is there some sort of WiFi connectivity?

Both apps say cell connection required. There's a few too many uconnect/FCA apps in the Play store.

My truck has this feature. As some of the other posters said, it requires your phone to have data service (either cell or wifi) and then log on to an app. I can lock/unlock the doors, start/stop the engine, and flash the lights and/or honk the horn.

Sometimes it works really well and the engine starts up right away, sometimes not so much.

So do you think you need the remote start option to use the app?

I would guess so but don't know how it's implemented in other FCA vehicles.

What if the night before, I forgot to turn off my wipers. Will the remote start also start the wipers back up? I'm worried that when frozen or covered with snow that I would break them off

Sirius XM Gaurdian is what we are looking at here. Free 1 year trial, after that, I can't remember the cost. Not sure on the Wipers question. I actually think not, but not 100% on that one. As far as the app and not having remote start, you could lock, unlock honk the horn i guess, but the remote start is the main feature here along with sending maps to the Nav system.

Assuming its works the same as the GC it won't turn your wipers on, its in like a between state of on and off..so the car is on, heated seats and wheel fire up if it is cold, vented seats fire up if it is hot ( not in the wrangler I know) but the rest of your systems aren't functioning until you actually turn the vehicle on by hitting the button.

Hello I'm a New Jeep Owner 2018 Sahara JL. I've only had it for 2days, I tried using the remote start and it gives the message (Remote start cancelled, Door Open) but we've checked all doors and they are ALL shut tightly. ?? Please Help

Is the hood closed completely? I believe there's a safety feature so it can't be started while the hood is open.
