UConnect remote start failure

It starts up every time with the key fob.

The uConnect app works at home but at work, where the Jeep is actually a couple hundred yards away, it fails every time I try. Restart the app, still fails. Doors are closed and locked as well as the hood, windows are up, fuel is full, sitting in an area with fantastic cell service.

The uConnect app is such a piece of crap it doesn’t tell me why the remote start failed. It just says failed.

When it fails, it happens immediately. When it works, the remote start icon spins for 30 seconds or so, but when it fails, the spinning lasts for about two seconds and then stops. Message icon that remote start failed.

Since it never communicated with the Jeep, the Jeep never made an attempt to start. There are no messages in the Jeep on the dashboard.

Anyone else have this issue?

In a few months when you find out how much it will cost you to renew / to maintain that remote start with app, you will run from the UConnect app... Suggest you waste little energy trying to troubleshoot your issue..

Well, it’s free for a year. I would like it to work for the first year as it’s included at no cost to me. It also drives me bananas that it doesn’t work and I don’t know why.

***If it worked as it should, I would consider the cost to have the ability to remote start in the summers from long distances.
