Looking to add remote start to my 2023 JLURD. I see 2 options out there, Kleinn($215 quadratec) and Start-X($145 amazon).

Any reason to go one vs the other? Kleinn uses a Fortin box and looks like they recently added the 2023 model as it wasn't avail last week.

Go factory. Literally just two new keys that need to get programmed by the dealer. You end up with 4 keys total. Module already in the vehicle

I added a Fortin evo-one to two of my other cars and was very happy with the product. I have a factory remote start on the jeep so I can't comment with that in particular.

I bought the one Fortin product from Crutchfield, and the other from Amazon.

I called the dealer about this last week and at the time the dealer couldn’t confirm the “Remote Start Kit - Mopar (82216342AA)“ would work

What should a dealer charge for the install?

Problem with going aftermarket is Stellantis can deny warranty coverage for you on the jeep for any random issue that might arise in the future. Not saying it will 100% happen, but it absolutely can. Aftermarket options should only be considered if you're already out of warranty coverage imo, which on a 2023 will be a while.

@memayo

I'm assuming you have an automatic tranny JL....

If so, I recommend you go with the Mopar remote start kit for your JL. Yes, kit will work with your 2023 JL.

Yes, the Mopar kit will run you $310+ and you will have to pay the dealer an hours labor to install and program 2 remotes... but what you pay for is well well worth the $ more then going with an aftermarket remote start.....

....AND you will end up with 2 fobs with a remote start button (2 come with Mopar kit) and you will still have your two working factory fobs without the remote buttons ..

....AND, you will not be saddled with an extra fob you have to deal with in regard to remote starting..

.... AND you will be far better off with the Mopar Remote that is covered under warranty. DO be sure to have the dealer add the remote start kit to Mopar accessories associated with/linked to your particular vehicle VIN#.

Description:
Production remote start kit with VIN-specific cut keys/fobs, and owners card. Fits Jeep Wrangler (JL version).

Do these come cut or does the dealer cut them during the install?
@memayo

Dealer does not cut the keys. Comes from Mopar with keys ready to go, (VIN-specific cut keys) thanks to dealer providing the associated vehicle Vin# when the order was placed.

When you have the dealership Service Department do the install, be sure to tell the Service Writer that you want the 2 working factory key fobs back that came with your JL.

Those 2 factory fobs have cut keys, RFID chips and programmed circuit boards in them can be used in say a @Threedom custom fob for the JL or a Threedom Waterproof Sport Key.
