I thought if you sold your Jeep within so many days of winning the Sexiest Jeep Alive title, you loose the title. I guess @3TV is the new winner? ;)
Whole thing is null and void and a do over needs to happen. However @SadRobot is selling hers too so someone else has to run it. I vote @Terrymo

Look at the 2 sides coming together.
lol.. my agreement is a bit selfish I’m afraid….. the contest has been run by two door owners both seasons and a two door won both seasons, something doesn’t smell right….

What, if any mods are you removing to place in the marketplace?
But good luck in the next adventure anyway..

Fair warning: Some people are going to get upset with this post. Me personally, I’m sad and conflicted. But also relieved.

TLDR: I am selling the Sexiest Jeep Alive 2026 on Bring-A-Trailer.

. . . .
Everything you said is true for most of us who bought new and live 3000+ miles for CO-UT-AZ-CA. But its not enough for us to quit the life. Just know that the whole thing doesn't work unless you keep the Jeep long term. Otherwise, of course its a financial disaster.

Instead of giving you a blablabla fishing for likes about how much I appreciate this community (which of course I do), let me instead give you some real, hard, truth about myself and the vehicle.

Here’s the hard truth about the vehicle: My rig had an MSRP of $61k in April 2025 when I bought it. Since then, I’ve put $25k in mods into it (here and here). That doesn’t include labor. The dealer trade-in value range is $35k - $39k. The private party range is about $3k- $5k more.

The hard truth about myself: While I did get to use it for what I built it for in Upstate NY and Vermont, I by far did not get to use it enough. My time and family-situation would not permit me.

I really wanted to be a guy living in Colorado, Arizona or Utah so badly. I wanted to be the one spending every weekend on the road. I wanted this vehicle to die in my driveway after 200,000+ miles. The Wrangler allowed me to spend my money and pretend to be this person for a little bit. It felt good. It was also stupid.

But I also wanted convenience. And like 80% of other Wrangler owners, I found myself in a pickle of daily practicality and desire. And I decided that my sunk cost is worth accepting.

I am lucky to be able to afford having built such a vehicle. And to not have to think much about the tremendous financial loss on it. Don’t get me wrong: I did a lot of it myself and enjoyed every single moment of it. That alone is worth everything to me.

Lastly, I do have to admit: I love this community. This was my 3rd Wrangler and the chances are 90%+ I will do it all over again in 2-3 years when the itch for “being part of something special” can’t be ignored anymore.

But yes, there are people like me. The worst of its kind. The ones that are only here for the moment, can afford that moment and waste it without much thought.

In about a week or so, I will post the link to the BAT auction here.

On a side note, farewell posts are like “Please delete” posts. They serve no one and only attract a flood of memes. So with this, I invite you to do your worst.
Thanks for using brief paragraphs which makes reading your post so much easier. Hopefully, others will get a "clue" and stop going on and on with their posts and no break in the layout

Oh yes…as long as I make all the rules and run it like a third world dictatorship. I mean you can vote if it makes you feel better but I’ll decide who wins. It won’t be me but it will be a Jeep doing actual Jeep things, not posing in a field of flowers, or pulled over on the shoulder of the road with a 12 inch rock under one tire. And maybe 2 doors will be allowed to enter…maybe. Bribes are being accepted now.

Your words from this last Easter Jeep Safari:
"So I didn’t sign up for any trails - I was just hoping that I can somehow find a way to ride with the folks in this group during the days I’m there (April 1-April 5). I certainly can’t risk to break a control arm axle mount since I have to drive back to NY afterwards."

So you went to Moab during Easter Jeep Safari but were afraid to run any challenging trails due to fear of damage? However, you feel that sinking all this money into a deeply depreciated vehicle is ok and you're ready to do it all over in a few years with a new car. You regret not being able to use it in NY but didn't want to use it when in Moab? Color me perplexed.

Damn, I think I fell for clickbait.

Absolutely true! As it would be with any vehicle really.

I think you’re misunderstanding some things:

1. You are sharing a DM publicly. Not illegal but not exactly kosher either.
2. I did not end up going to Easter Jeep Safari as I thought you knew. I couldn’t make it work because I ended up getting a new job and had to cancel my travel plans. Not that I owe you an explanation but I don’t like defamation in public, so I thought I’d share this fact.
3. Even if I had gone to EJS and able to make the experience, which I deeply regret not making, I stand behind that I don’t enjoy breaking things. The message you shared is out of context as there were other DMs in that chat where I clearly said “If it happens, it happens, it’s part of the deal.”
4. What’s okay for one person might not be for another. I recognize my own shortcomings and am not afraid of admitting to it - case in point this thread. I’m not sure I understand your concern? Is it that dumping money into a depreciating liability is an emotionally-driven decision and therefore can lead to financial mismanagement? Yes. That’s what Jeeps are famous for and that’s what particularly some car-loving maniacs are known for. I am incredibly lucky to have allowed myself this mistake. I walked away with good memories and learnings and a community to appreciate.
5. I have used it on the East Coast as much as my time permitted up until my job and family situation changed (about 14000 miles in 12 months - not a ton, not a little). Again, not something I need to share but thought it helpful you understand the history.
6. Yes - judging based on history and my continued admiration for Wranglers and some people here in the community who embody the lifestyle, I would do it all over again. Though this time around, I would have learned my lesson and would more carefully evaluate the upgrades needed for East Coast off-roading.

I mean it’s simple @21JLURDG : In a nutshell I allowed myself to buy into an expensive idea to feel like I’m part of something only to find out that I wasn’t really and I paid a price for it. There’s plenty of people before me who did the same, there will be plenty after me. I don’t regret it. I learnt a ton along the way, both about Wranglers and the culture, as well as about myself.
