For those that claim automatic car washes are a no-no, how do you think the dealers wash the vehicles after an oil change. Every dealer visit I have had included a complimentary car wash. I doubt they have a team of employees to hand wash the convertibles.
My selling CDJR dealer employs lot stewards (their actual job title) who prep the vehicles for delivery, and/or clean them if particularly dirty after being offloaded from the truck. Per my salesman, the dealer does have a handwash policy for the soft top Jeeps; it's one of the jobs performed by the stewards. We chatted about this service when scheduling my delivery appt., since it had to be added to a steward's job ticket.

So, yes, such folks do work at some dealer locations.

As my dealer doesn't [yet] have an automatic car wash on site, and because the stewards are employed to perform a variety of services, complimentary washes aren't usually provided after services like oil changes or state inspections (the latter being something I've personal experience with at that dealer.)

No. I looked it up. And spoke to a local roof rack company. Simmer down.
Please provide the link where Jeep says Wranglers with a SOT have a lower roof carrying capacity. You already looked it up, so you should be able to simply copy / paste the link.

Interesting. My Max Care just talks about covering motors for it, not the whole thing.
Ins covered $1,630.96 + my $100 deductible
He said it took them 11 hrs but that was all ins would cover…. due to

Wow, what could have caused that to happen on every other bar? Either that was some defective plastic, something got jammed in the track, or just dumb luck.

Glad insurance / warranty covered it. At that price I would have been considering my options. One of which would have been trying to fix it myself. Wonder if those ends could be printed with metal from a place like send cut send?

No, just one bar broke, but they come in two bar sections. The one that broke goes on the track, the other just the strap so it can fold up. It’s damn near all labor to R&R them.

2023 Willys with Extreme Recon Package
I am in the final year of the lease on my 2023 Wrangler Willys 2D and starting to look at my options. I would really like to get a 4D Willys to make hauling passengers easier. Most of the 2026 Willys 4D models I've seen come with the One-Touch Power-Top. Thoughts on this option? I live in Minnesota, so we get snow and cold weather (usually a week-long span of 20 degrees below zero each winter). I want to like it, but I really like the hard-top that I currently have. I usually do not remove the top or the Freedom panels, so I'm not sure how much I would use the Power-Top. Maybe due to the convivence of just having to push a button I might change my mind. Just not seeing the hard tops on the lots anymore. For those that have the Power-Top, how has it been? Reliability? Leaks? Wind Noise?, etc.

My other option is to purchase my current Wrangler, which I really like as well. As always, it comes down to finances and deals!
So, being the owner of a 23 jeep willys with a sky one touch, My vote is no. You can not take the top off, your stuck with just rolling it back, wind noise is a little worse than a standard jeep, rain is noisy, it leaks, and its just not as cool as taking the top off. Yes the windows come out in seconds, but there is still something about the look I cant get use to. I wish I had a hard top, so in the summer I could go with a rag top.

Oh, and you can find very few roof top racks that work with them.

You've got a defect if it leaks. Hopefully you're still under warranty.

You can fully remove the roof, it is just not as easy as a hardtop or soft top.

When I was shopping for my Jeep, I was leaning towards a hardtop, but kept the SOT as an option if the vehicle I wanted ended up having it. I had a specific list of requirements when looking, and the 2020 Sahara I bought just happened to have it.

All that to say that I wish there were as many roof rack options as on the hardtop, but I love the flexibility of being able to open or close the roof without stopping by the side of the road.

If you don’t have a garage and live in the snow belt how has the SOT held up to 15”+ snow storms - any issues with the weight of the snow cap/thaw leaking in or with snow/ice and freezing slush?

I'm thinking it'd do significantly better than a soft top in those conditions.

If there's a leak then it's broken and needs to be fixed.

I have my soft top out from mid May to mid September, hardtop for winter. (No garage)
Trying to decide if a SOT is a viable option if we get another jeep. Functionality it’s very nice, just don’t want to have it destroyed by an ice storm or a blizzard.

You can say that again, at $1700 for one broken plastic bar. How gun shy will I be about using it after the warranty expires ? I intend to use it and see what happens. If further issues while warrantied my confidence will be even more diminished…. Discouraging.

Mine is in the shop right now.

It would sometimes say it was obstructed. That was primarily while trying to close it while rock crawling (too much dust / rain / whatever), so the jarring movement was too much for it.

The dealership said it was some piece of metal that was bent (unclear on what exactly). They "fixed" it for a "mere" $1,400 (mostly labor). Was not covered by our Max Care warranty.

The first time I drove it I took it through a car wash. Water gushed in on the driver's side. WTF? Tried the top and it got obstructed, but with a much worse noise. Warned my wife to not use it due to the risk that it wouldn't close. You could see it wasn't seating correctly on the passenger side.

$1,400 and it was significantly worse. WTF?

The dealership said the whole top needs to be replaced. $3,000, but would take off the original $1,400. How nice of them.

After much loud "discussion" and repeatedly pushing it up the chain, we finally got them to agree to fix it for free.

Now we're waiting for an entire new top to get here.

Free— this time, I wonder why your Max Care didn’t cover it, did you get the top level ? I don’t recall the options.
I only used a brushed wash once. But the hand wash I use runs it through the touch less tunnel after (for the wax) and the blow dryer is very powerful. Perhaps the culprit, I can and will now forgo the tunnel if they can’t turn it off, as they also hand dry.
