That is one nice thing about Fairbanks, we don't have any ethanol in our fuel here. We only get 90 octane as our premium but we don't have the same freezing issues either or negative effects of ethanol in the fuel.

Well I often have ethanol in my bloodstream so I guess I wouldn’t survive there

Coincidentally, gasoline may begin to freeze or crystallize, starting at -40°F. Anyone who lives with that risk profile, so to speak, should already be using a gas line antifreeze, like Heet, as part of a multi-layered approach to deal with such temperature trends.

When we lived if Fairbanks I bought Heet by the case in the winter. Always had a few bottles in each vehicle and poured 1 in every fill up. That was also during carburetor days.

I was driving yesterday to Winnipeg at one point is said -38 in my jeep.
it ran no problems.

Not really.
We have covers on them all- we'd just taken them off and backed into that spot to unhook the trailer so we can drive off the front...
Most surfaces are either plastic, aluminum, or powder coated steel- though some of the ski hardware might get some patina on them...
My sled is a 2012 and still looks pretty good...
