I’m wondering if anyone’s had success getting jeep to pay for the door hinge corrosion repairs I was just told by my dealership that the claim was denied by JEEP when I called JEEP customer service they told me that it would all be out of pocket

From what I read the warranty is for 5 years with unlimited mileage during those years. The 5 years starts when the Jeep was delivered to the original owner. My 2020 JL warranty ended last July, luckily I had my corrosion issues taken care of before the warranty expired.

I had put a ticket in to get the claim going a few months before mine was up and I was told by the dealership it would be fine but now jeeps customer care is telling me it’ll have to be out of my pocket to get the work done it’s a lot of back and forth right now for sure

What reason did they give you for the rejection seeing you put the claim in before expiration? Not very good business but not surprising at all.

I had success. When I first noticed the corrosion, it was very small. I few bubbles the size of a tip of a pen. I reported it but the dealer said it was too small and it would cause more damage to investigate. I contacted the customer satisfaction person at the dealership, and they connected me with the Warranty dept. It took several months of constant follow to get my Jeep inspected by the Body shop manager. The manager did an extensive inspection and told me that he would submit the report to Jeep. I followed up several times and was finally told that Jeep authorized replacement of the hood, doors, and tailgate and that my Jeep was in the queue. Several more months went by with several follow up calls. I was a bit nervous because the in-service date at this time was about 90 days away. They ensured me that everything was in motion and that I was covered. 45 days out of in-service date they called me and told me if I could bring it in and they would need it for 3-4 weeks. They provided me with a loaner. I got my Jeep back after 3 weeks and it looks great. I have been back to the body shop a few times to have doors and tailgate adjusted and they have been great. I couldn't be happier.

I know they added the 2024s to the TSB. This is very discouraging, meaning they have not fixed the issue with new wranglers.

The zinc shims, if they were effective, would have only impacted hinges. Unless they somehow fix the root cause then the issue won't be going away anytime soon.
