I have read some scattered posts in the forums about hinge corrosion. I wasn't able to get an idea how common the problem is though. Are there any statistics on this? Is there any legal action being taken? Right now, my 2018 JL has been at the dealer/body shop for 2 Months! After the first month when I went to pick it up the Torx bolts where chipped from when they went to reinstall the hinges. (Plus the Jeep wouldn't start)I told them they had to touch up the bolts or redo them. I'm still waiting. In NY, the Lemon Law states that if they can't resolve a warranty issue after 30 days, and that issue "significantly decreases the value of your car" you can sue.

Yes there was a class action. All over the internet just google. There are couple thousand posts around here about it. Dealer generally will fix it. I doubt the lemon law covers 5 year old cars though. If they are fixing it already not sure how a law suit will help much but good luck!
