There is a company that has a kit. Unsure the name.
Well, if anybody DOES HAPPEN to find that company, maybe post it in here for us all. That would be easier than making them myself. I gotta find some thick ass aluminum plate, like 3/4”. That’s the hard part right now.

Thanks, I just reached out to them to find out how to get a 2-piece set. I don’t have all those EXTRA doors. I’ll let everybody know what they say.

Been there, done that. This spring they said they were "looking into offering a two-pack option."
I tried to find someone local with the tool needed (don't even remember what it is now) to cut the assembly on the Jeep -- offered to give them two of the hinge sets in return for use of the tool, but I got no takers :-/

The bolt doesn't bother me in the least, but that damn arm that goes in and out needs to have a better solution.
Yea yea, I know, you just leave it off and recessed in the door. I seen too many JK's with dented cowels to want to do that. However while putting the doors back on for our Smokie mountain trip last night, I opened it all the way up to see if it hit the cowels and since I have 37s the door actually rests against the tire now. So I could do that but I like the fact the wind cannot rip it open and smash into the tire. I am still using a screwdriver or Allen wrench T to put in there and pull with all my might to get it back out (I have to push them in since my doors hang on the wall.)

I'm guessing you don't have power mirrors/windows? (Ours have a wire harness with an additional limiter strap built into them.) You should be able to find an aftermarket limiter strap -- I've seen woven paracord versions -- and attach it to the door. Then it just slips over the top of the hook in the Jeep -- provided it exists in yours.
(They just don't hold open the door like the hinge does.)

Of course I have that, but honestly never checked it's range. They were hooked up on the JK's we drove back when we were looking and they all had dents in the cowels if they didn't have the cowel cover already installed to cover the dent. I just figured it was the norm. I don't like the idea of the wind ripping the door open when my wife might not be paying attention.

I think the fabric strap holds it enough -- I was considering stowing the metal hinge until I realized/decided I am accustomed to the door being held open by it enough to go through the extra steps when removing or adding the doors.

Here's a video review of the 2026 quick release door hinges ......

Side note: why is he lifting the door from the inside? Do other people do this? It looks awkard to me. From the exterior is very ergonomic (or something like that)

We can only hope they've attempted to try to mitigate some of the galvanic corrosion issues while thinking about the hinges.

Agreed. I always lift and replace from the exterior so I can see the hinge holes and I'm not banging anything making the hinges look even worse.

You were right, they basically don’t care about the 2-door. So I ordered a 4-door set. You want to buy the other 2 for $26, half of what I paid.
From what I saw you only need a drill to drill out the retractable arm, press in a bushing and you are done.

I like Brandon Haneline's recommendation that you reach through the window from the outside and the armrest has a built in grab on the bottom side.

I wonder if this change requires any new accident testing.

I remember another thread where people said you should put the bolt back in the bottom of the hinges for road trips and highway driving, better accident protection or something like that

Clearly that was all just unfounded fears.
