Clearly that was all just unfounded fears.
That's another (small, but they add up) time thing -- using a tool at all. Getting out the ratchet, attaching the bit, disassembling and replacing it after the process.

I found it to be a more after the fact problem. I rolled my 13 JK and in helping my family and I get out, as soon as they opened my door it fell and was dangling by just the door limiting strap and the electrical wires. So now I keep the bolts in on the bottom of the hinges.

So when you opened the door it fell away and gave a bigger opening ... seems like a win to me.

He didn't say away. It could have fallen in. I assure you it will fit in the opening. Fact for the day. That's why manhole covers are round. A circle is the only object that won't fall in on themselves.

Nope, not a win. I sat there, hung there ?, trying to get the wire to not break. I couldn’t get the connection to disconnect. Thinking that I was still gonna save my Jeep.

So what, specifically, is different about this vs. just leaving the T40 screws out on a 18-25?

Lesson learned, the hard way.

Reading this article

https://moparinsiders.com/2026-jeep-wrangler-heritage-horsepower-and-trail-ready-innovation/

and the following paragraph caught my attention:

The new hinge design uses revised alignment pins and a self-centering mechanism that helps guide the door perfectly into position during removal and reinstallation — eliminating the need for guesswork or multiple adjustments. Jeep also switched to lightweight, high-strength aluminum hinge components, reducing overall door weight and making it easier for one person to remove the doors without assistance.

So...they are aluminum finally. Wouldn't that solve the hinge corrosion issue? Could we replace the existing hinges with these to prevent corrosion from happening??

We can only hope they've attempted to try to mitigate some of the galvanic corrosion issues while thinking about the hinges.
Check out the linked article and the highlighted paragraph in post 55 of this thread.

So I guess to retrofit a '25 you'd need to buy new hinges and a new door stop rod for all 4 doors. That'll probably get pricey.

But might be worth it if you knew it would prevent corrosion...and honestly, Stellantis should foot the bill.

Hopefully the aluminum is very thick. I had a dirt bike carrier made of aluminum 5/16 square tubing seemed very robust. Coming back from PA from a ride I noticed a little movement and decided to get off at a rest stop. Not a second after I turned in the bike tipped over and came off the carrier. Root cause was stress at the attachment point, it sheered straight across as if I cut it with a laser.

None... but it pays well.
If it ain't aiircraft quality, it ain't worth trying to upgrade. Jeep parts are cheap parts IMO.
