This was in respect to having to look something up on the trail. You are right. I could download a manual, All I am asking for information in a manual like the JK had or even my 2021. I guess that's too much to ask for $60000 ++++
It's not too much to ask. If you want one, and really will use it, you can have one. Free or for a nominal fee.

But it is unreasonable for Stellantis to print 5,000,000 200 page manuals and include them on every car, when the vast majority of people will never ever even break the plastic seal of the manual. That is 1,000,000,000 pages annually made of chemical ink and killed trees.

Phone companies stopped printing phone books. Yet no one has problems looking up phone numbers.

Penthouse and Playboy stopped printing monthly magazines - a greater loss than a Jeep manual, if you ask me. Yet, no one has problems looking at naked girl pictures.

That is called - obsolescence. Let the printed manual rest in peace.

Ever been out in the boonies with no LTE, wifi, or satellite connectivity so you couldn't download a manual? Ever had your device run out of power or fail so you couldn't download a manual? Ever lost your device or had it stolen so you couldn't download a manual?

I hope that everyone is lucky enough to never experience these heinous first-world maladies, but they really do happen. Certainly, many owners are happy to drop $40-$90K on a Jeep without ever reading a page of their manual, and many others can't imagine a world without devices or internet connectivity, but it really exists. For these owners, I agree 100% that it makes zero sense for Stellantis to unnecessarily destroy more trees and furnish them with a hard-copy manual. To each his/her own, but for the rest of us who do face these realities, there is simply no replacement for a hard copy manual, and they should at least be available on a by-request basis.

No real engineer, architect, builder, machinist, pilot reads their plans/manuals on the f-ing 4" screen, they ALL use the real paper blueprints, plans and drawings.
Just saying...
Fascinating how some people think they can force others to believe what they believe is the only correct way...

I’m not reading 8 pages and don’t care if I’m just repeating what others have said.

Download the F’ing manual PDF to your phone (so you can’t cry about possibly not having service) and then use the damn thing. Using the search function is 1000X faster and easier than trying to decipher what section of the manual something is.

Thank god you boomers don’t have to buy a house these days. I can’t imagine how much you would cry about using Docusign for the whole process and not having the 500 page paper copy you’ll never look at again.
You Millenials can't buy a house because you don't know how to read, your attention span is 30s TikToks, you got participation trophies your whole life and are full of feelings and hurts.

BTW, you most likely have no clue what you sign in that 500 pages Docusign, that you so cheerfully e-sign.

I wonder if Commercial Pilots still carry a Jeppesen Manual binder in their go-bag? Is the Jeppesen manual even being printed these days? Most, if not all, commercial pilots use a tablet with a 10" screen in place of the Jeppesen Manual binder.

I wonder what they do when the Tablet goes "Tits-Up".

Using a Tablet affixed to the Yoke or strapped to their leg would be easier than taking a page out the Jeppesen binder every time.

I do understand that it would be easier and speedier to keep the Charts and Airways information up to date.

Looked in my glove box for the first time to peruse my owner's manual, radio manual, warranty manual, etc.

No joy sucker. Here's a 1/8" thick owners "handbook".

If you want an actual detailed printed manual like included with virtually every vehicle ever built, no problem, just send us 60 bucks.

Yes I know they have it in electronic form. Some might prefer that, I do not. Perhaps it's like the spare tire and manufacturers are starting to do away with printed manuals. My wife's new Toyota, however, came with a mini library of Congress of printed books.

Kills me the included "handbook" is printed on gloss paper, in color. Probably cost more than the inch thick proper manual for my '22 that was printed on tissue paper.

Carry on. 🙂

As a printer by trade.... The gloss book probably cost under $2 to print in bulk... The abbreviated manual, printed in bulk, would cost under $5-6/ea. The full manual would likely be closer to $12-14/ea :) But, when you multiply that by tens of thousands, turns out to be a fair chunk of change... And, what percentage of vehicle owners today actually reads the manual? For that matter, what percentage can actually read & comprehend it...? LOL

I'm guessing the next thing they stop giving you for free is the spare tire...it is a spare tire, not really necessary.
It's "necessary" when you have a flat in the middle of the mountains in the dead of night in the winter time...

I know you are posting in jest....but....

Human beings are too valuable. We should all be ashamed to have a human being doing something as menial as pumping gas or scanning items on a checkout line. We should reserve human beings for doing jobs that require the human uniqueness and specialness.

The Lowes employees should be helping customer with expertise recommending a unique tool or material. The gas attendant should be helping customers by performing courtesy safety inspections of their tires, and brakes, insuring that trailers are safely attached to hitches, helping with minor diagnostics (scan tools) and minor repairs like batteries, brakes, wiper blades, etc.

And no one should be grinding trees into pulp and chemicals into ink to print anything on paper anymore.
Scientifically speaking, it has been proven that people that read printed material will hold onto it longer and read it more thoroughly than those that view it electronically... Marketing agencies have figured this out and have gone back to pushing their clients to print materials instead of investing so heavily in digital advertising only. Hence my job as a printer is actually getting busier, not slower...

As for those complaining about killing trees... Trees are a renewable resource and the overwhelming majority of paper mills only buy pulp from responsible harvesters that plant new trees to replace those that are harvested. I love the "recycled paper" argument too, since those papers use more energy to produce and are government subsidized due to the high cost to produce them... Since COVID, truly recycled papers have become almost non-existent except to high-priced retail customers who buy them off the store shelf 10 sheets at a time.

Full disclosure, I looked at mine twice….. once just a couple days ago when someone said 600 pages, had to verify, couldn’t believe it, lol…. The first time was when I got in my jeep for the first time, couldn’t find where to stick the key in…..🤣

This thread really is amazing. The dudes that just want a printed owners manual with their $50K Wranglers are just venting their frustration. However, the electronic fuck your printed manuals dudes really seem to get their panties twisted up at the simple thought that not everyone wants the electronic bullshit manual 🤷🏻‍♂️
You ok grampa? Kids not visiting you in the home as much as they used to?

I refuse to sign my life to f-ing phone and depend of that stupid "invention". It is turning to a must for every aspect of my life and I do not like it. I might be in minority here but resist having 250+ applications for everything I want to do in my life...
Sorry to all who might get offended with how I like to organize my own life and my free time...
That would be a lot of apps. There's also a middle ground where you take advantage of some of the efficiency of mobile/app devices but not let it rule your life.

I hear a lot of old people bitch about how kids are always on their phones. Well....don't be so boring, then. LOL

But those drawings typically originate and live in an electronic format. It's just not very efficient to set up a computer monitor at a construction site. But it is pretty easy to read a Jeep owner's manual on a device.

LOL. I think you have Millennials confused with GenZ. Or maybe the Boomers.

These forums are all about members discussing specifics about their vehicles. It's voluntary. If someone doesn't want to participate, thats fine. It's supposed to be an open non-confrontational discussion.
