Morning all!

Time to head to the hills. :jk:

Driving to Buena Vista to hike a couple days. :whew:

Hope those new Jeeps keep rolling out and no one is still on their long wait. :sun:

Good Morning!. I thought I'd be the first one up this morning.

Beautiful area. I originally went to that area for the Leadville Trail 100 mile trail run and have driven some of the 4WD trails near there. Anyways have a good time and post some photos! No place like the Rockies!

Most times you would find Lydia on point.
G’morning! I was sleeping in after a busy week & a late night Thursday, picking up the dog I’m watching for a couple weeks. First order of business was getting him outside! We’re adjusting to each other’s schedules. :giggle:

OK, so I’ve got a dumb question, but hey - how else do you learn...

You only wave when you’re coming across a Jeep driving towards you i.e. on the opposite side of the road, correct? Said differently, you wouldn’t wave if you were passing a Jeep on a highway, right?
I will be new to the wave and I really want to get it right... Anything else a rookie like me should know about? Does it matter if you wave with your left hand vs. right hand? (I don’t think so but maybe there’s a secret meaning I don’t know about...).

PS1: I tried waving when I got my Jeep Renegade but no one ever waved back LOL. Apparently it’s a Wrangler thing rather than a Jeep thing!

PS2: I must confess that I find The Wave almost as daunting as I find it exciting! On the one hand I love the sense of community and comradeship among Jeep owners, and after lurking on these forums for weeks I feel like waving to every Jeeper on the off chance it could be one of y’all. :involve: But on the other hand there are *so many* Wranglers around here, I might as well get used to driving with only one hand at all times! I don’t know how folks with manuals manage it... Steer with your knees?!

:jk:
I'm new to the Wrangler scene too, so I just started waving at every Wrangler I saw (and yes, it's just a Wrangler thing).
Waves come from everywhere: Coming towards me, from the sides and even from behind! I had a 2-door behind me so I stuck my hand up (I had my top down) and waved and he did the same. Wranglers will pass me, wave, then give me a thumbs-up.
When I get a wave from someone coming directly at me, they usually just lift their hand up off the steering wheel a bit. Since I usually have my doors off, I'll go ahead and give them a full "arm-out-the-door" wave and they get a big kick out of that.
Highway/freeway waves are less frequent since folks aren't really looking over 4 to 6 lanes of traffic.
Then you'll get folks who won't even acknowledge you're there. I pulled up right beside a lady at a stoplight who was in a JKU and she wouldn't even look over. She knew I was there because she passed me! So don't let those people get to ya. They aren't Jeeple; they're just people.
So just have fun at it! Like I mentioned earlier, I'm getting more waves now than ever since my doors are off and I'm either in safari mode or sun-rider mode. It's a cool look and draws attention from not only other Wrangler drivers but folks who wish they had one! :like: :jk:

So I have my new Rubi 2 Dr one month and just love it. It's a manual and firecracker red. I just have one question every once in a while when listening to either AM or FM i'm getting a slight baffle sound and can't figurer where it's coming from.
Any thoughts?

Baffle sound? Can you describe it? I have the alpine system and listen primarily to XM, as I sacrificed reception for the coolness and good looks of a stubby antennae and it is flawless!

Well the only way I can describe it like when you have a speaker thats broken and when i person is talking on the radio you get a bass sound, but it's not all the time. I tried to adjust the bass and treble by going more treble and less bass. But again it's not all the time and not on XM

Ya, just got back from the lake with daughter and boxers... man its so fun doing stuff with the JL. This thing feels like a sports car compared to my last Jeep in the early 90s.
How do the boxers fit in the back, Gary? Can you post a picture with them? I want to see how my grand dogs will fit; I don’t want to try til I get back seat covers. Plus our first dog was a boxer, I loved that gal, she was awesome!

You’re so funny, Alex! I’m sort of the same. I am finding out the jLUs are less likely to wave back. And, yes, I can say this ā€˜cause I’m a girl, but women are more likely to be soccer moms and don’t wave back. As disheartening as it is not to receive a wave back, I love when I get one, puts a big smile on my face, so I know there are authentic jeeples out there. So keep on waving (only to wranglers!) and have fun. You know...ā€if you’re happy and you know it wave your hand....if you’re happy and you know it......
Happy Saturday!
