It takes a little work to run 37s on a 2-door, if you want to do it right. I just bought a 2025 2-door Rubicon a little over a month ago and have been collecting the parts to run 38s. I have a set of 37" Cooper STT Pro tires mounted on Method Bead Grip wheels in my shed though, so initially the 2-door will be shod with 37s.

If you are even thinking of 37s, just do it. As much as the parts cost, it will be more if you do 35s first, and then 37s. Been there, done that, too many times.

So after some forum searching I’ve decided I might want to go 37s instead of 35s. The price difference on 5 tires is $100. Yes regearing will be done as I have 3.45s I do have the M220(Dana 44) rear and M186(Dana 30/35?) front. I know fender clearance will be an issue so I’m looking into that. Already planning for 35s so reinforced tailgate and spare tire adapter in the works. What else is needed to run 37s? I’m not opposed to getting the 35s but if I’m going to go 37s eventually I might as wok do it now. I won’t be doing any trails where 40s are recommended or needed. Some of the trails I’ve done in the past that were 33/35+ only have recently become 35/37+ only trails and they’re the more fun obstacle/technical trails. Otherwise it’s forest service roads and the occasional washout with ruts and pot holes.
I'm all for 37s. I run them on my JLUR. But if you run forest service roads and a few ruts and potholes, you're not utilizing the benefits of the larger tires and getting the negative aspects as they apply to street uses. 37s are also outside of the commonly accepted strength range for the M186 if you were to do serious terrain with it. So, given your uses and your jeep as it is, I would just go to the 35s. But 37s will look much cooler. So there's that.

If you can’t decide between 35’s or 37’s the obvious choice would be 40’s
Or maybe 49s would be a better choice. Picture is of my tiny Jeep on 40s next to a real Jeep on 49s

That’s what I’m saying. Most of the trails I used to do on 33s&35s are now 35/37 size tire requirements because of the bigger ruts. I don’t want to be stuck to forest roads because I went with a smaller tire. I’d love to metal cloak my jeep. But considering just the tires are going to cost me between $2400 and $2800 adding a snazzy lift isn’t in the cards that’s why I have the rubicon take off suspension. It sits plenty high enough and just adding 35s will give me an additional 5ā€ of lift so my diffs and everything will clear just about everything I’ll need it to. I just think 37s will look cooler. But I’m not going for cool I like function way before coolness.

I don’t think you will be happy with 37s w/o any lift. I have a 2dr JLR with 35in tires and a Clayton 1.5in lift. Actually netted 2in. Managed the Rubicon Trail. I think you will end up doing more to your Jeep if you go with 37s. I love my setup and don’t desire bigger. Here is the stance.

That’s looks really good. I don’t have the highline fender flares. And I have stock rubicon suspension.

What gear ratio are you planning on? I have 5.13’s and 37 inch KO2’s and it drives ok but if I were to do it over I would go with 5.38’s. You really can’t over gear a 6 speed.

and a front 186, not a 44. If you go big start saving for if and a high when possibility. 2c
